Chances at Haverford and a few others

Current Year: Junior

GPA: 3.8 (unweighted)
4.6 (weighted)
Rank: 17 out of 430 (A=4, B=3..)

SAT: I just took it in March. Judging from the PSAT I am looking at 700+ in all categories.
SAT II: Taking them in May.

Classes: My current and projected APs include AP Calc BC, AP Comp Sci AB, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, both AP English courses, AP Statistics, AP Biology, and AP Govt Politics/AP Spanish/AP European History. I also took a combined History/English class my 9th/10th grade years. Same as an honors class, but puts the two in seminar setting.

Extra Curriculars:
Jazz Band 9th/10th (Became a class and I couldn't fit it in my schedule)
Marching Band 9th-12th (Section Leader 11th/12th)
Various Levels of Honor Bands (Highest being 2nd Chair District)
Will attend NC Governor's School for Instrumental Music this Summer
Worked on computers for school system
Science Academic Team 11th/12th (I will probably end up captain next year)
Drama Tech Crew 11th and possibly 12th

My top choices are Haverford, Duke, Rice University, Vanderbilt, and Univeristy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My class rank will probably end up increasing because I tend to do well in my AP classes (went from 33rd to 17th after first semester this year). Thanks for any advice.

All look solid, but can't do anything until the scores come in. Check back in when all the data's in. Also, I don't seen any leadership or athletics. That could have an effect.

I agree with collegeparent, you should get more Ec's decides just band but i think everything else looks pretty good and since u said u do good in AP classes, i am guessing your rank will move up again. Also it sounds like you did good on your psat. Did u get the national merit scholarship or qualify for it?
