Class of '09 White Male from good public school in New England.

so far I've got a 3.72 GPA overall (They only calculate weighted GPA for the transcript.) Most of my worse grades were in freshman year, with a 4.17 gpa junior year.

With best scores from both times taking the SAT I'd have a 2010 (1930 first time, 1970 second.)

AP's:
Eng. Lang. - 5
US History- 5
US Gov- 5
Physics B, Eng lit, Psych and Spanish to be taken next year.

Classical guitarist since kindergarden, plan to submit audition tape. NHS member, volunteer work at local historical society all four years of high school. Volunteer work during every summer, some travel. A smattering of unimportant extra curriculars (JV sports and such.)

Anyways if you could give me a realistic shot at what my chances would be at:
Haverford, UConn (in-state,) Clark, U of Chicago, BC, Brown, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Tufts, William and Mary and Notre Dame(legacy,)
I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to narrow down the list.

Your GPA is considered decent; however, with your tremendous improvement in grades (I can tell that since you have a 4.17 GPA junior year, yet you have a 3.72 cumulative) colleges will definitely look at this jump and say, "Wow." You did well. You should be happy, because going up is much harder than going down (I think I'm on the 2nd path ... not good!). Anywho, this is about you ... so I'll keep talking about you. You seem to have a challenging courseload, but it is definitely not the most challenging I've seen on CC. They also like to see you take Honors classes. Your SAT is good, but not great. I recommend that you retake it and boost your score by about 100 points. Your ECs are decent.

Chances: I*
University of Chicago: Slight reach (They will like your GPA improvement, but your SAT is on the lower side of their range)
Boston College: Slight reach
Brown: Far reach (SAT + cumulative GPA + Ivy)
Notre Dame: Slight reach (SAT)
UConn: Match
Tufts: Match
