I posted H because I believe you can still submit the Qb app to non QB app during Rd round.

Er, I believe you can submit the QB app to the QB partners in the RD round -- not to schools that are non-QB partners (why in the world would other colleges just accept the QB app?).

You obviously have a very strong app, though being Asian is going to hurt your chances, especially through QB -- only 9% of those matched are Asian. I'd say YP are reaches, though you do have a shot. Good luck.

Of course getting into HYPS is hard, no matter who you are. But, due to extreme and compelling and unique circumstances, I would say his chances are significantly higher than a normal white middle-upper class applicant.

Some like to think that QB raises your chances of being accepted. I don't think so. Those who aren't URMs are generally matched at a lower rate than others. Of the ~1600 finalists last year, only ~100 were matched, for a 6% match rate. The RD round is much better, but I don't think it's really because of QB -- more that the students are already very strong + a large number of them are URMs, and they'd probably have gotten in without QB.

match rate is sooo low because according to amherst (this may vary depending on the college but i doubt it) your parent contribution must be ZERO after the financial aid office evaluate the app. Amherst couldn't even match kids who's parents could only contribute 200 dollars last year.

I think THAT really narrows the list because I doubt my parent contribution is zero. I already did my app so I just turned it in anyways :P

Well, according to the income stats, that isn't true.
