I'm a junior this year and stressing out on college (who isn't?). I'm not a very solid student, here are my credentials.

GPA: 3.2
SAT I: 1760
SAT II: Taking soon
ACT: Taking soon

Took honors courses and advanced courses througout highschool.

Im in a very prestigious private school in Boston and it requires a lot of community service to graduate, so I have that on my side

EC:

Soccer 3 years (will be 4)
Newspaper
Key Society
Sports Entertainment
Bowling Club
Spanish Club

out of school:
Soccer, many tournaments won, team captain
Worked as a caddy freshman year
Youth group classes and community service

I have a few colleges in mind:

Indiana University (bloomington)
San Diego State University
Arizona State University
Loyola University Chicago
University of Tampa
University of Vermont
University of Massachussetts
Coastal Carolina University

What do you think I need to improve on and what are my chances.

your choices seem a bit weird. why are you applying to sdsu and arizona for example? I am sure there are several state universities near where you live that offers the same qulaity of education at an even lower cost. Is it because you like the locations?

indiana is a great fit for you. you seem to be a match to me.

I'm not the kind of person who could go to school in the state I live in, and I want to experience something new, that is why I am all over the place... I love out west... My sister went to ASU and I love the campus and SDSU's is beautiful also.

You think IU would be the ideal fit? I felt that IU might have been a reach. My dad went there and I visited the campus over the summer for soccer camp.. I love the school, the tradition, and the location... IU would be one of my top choices.. Business school is great there.

Your SAt and GPA is within range and legacy may help a bit..altho not much in a state uni...

Its really smart to pick ohio, purdue and indiana for business because they have such great programs there that are better than even some of the top schools...

oh i wasn't surprised you found iu's campus to be beautiful...its one of the prettiest in the country. if i were you, i would definately go there if accepted!

For SDSU, your gonna be okay. Your GPA is average and your SAT score is above average for the school, 1070 on the old SAT format for 2005 Fall Admission.

You aren't by chance looking at Sport Management, are you?

Just seems like that seeing UMass, Indiana U, ASU, Tampa, Loyola, and Vermont on your list, and talking about your involvement in sports as well as knowing who Mark Spitz is that you may have been thinking about it.

Anyways, IU is a match for you. Your GPA is right around average for them, and you have great test scores. But admissions standards will be harder for your class, as this year's class saw a big increase in applications, meaning higher selectivity. Apply early!

Indiana doesn't have EA or ED. They're just rolling. As long as you apply early and have a GPA above a 3.0, you should be fine. No essay, no teacher rec, no EC list. They just care about that GPA.

Make sure to apply to UMass. Their SM program is fantastic, the best in the nation. Would also recommend Oregon for SM. Those two programs really distinguish themselves.
