Chances at Ivies...and Non-Ivies

I posted my info on the Columbia board a day or two ago, but still haven't gotten any responses. I thought I might have more luck here. I've already applied to Columbia early decision. Here are the schools I'll be applying to regular decision if that doesn't work out:

Harvard
Yale
Brown
NYU
Georgetown
Penn State

I might be applying to Princeton, Tufts, and JHU as well, but I'm not sure about those at this point. Here are my stats (they're long), so what are my chances at those schools, keeping in mind Columbia is ED.

White
Male

SAT I:
-CR 800
-Math 790
-Writing 750

SAT II:
-US History 800
-Math II 800
-Spanish (w/o listeningt) 770

School Info:
-Public
-Suburban
-Very large (4000 students)
-Outside Philadelphia, PA

I'm not sure about my GPA, but it's in the mid-high 90s unweighted and high 90s-low 100s weighted. My class rank is 4 out of approx. 850. All my classes have been honors or AP when possible. Also, this year I'm taking an honors Mandarin Chinese class after school two days a week as part of a new program at my school.

AP:
-Government and Politics 5
-US History 5
-Spanish Language 5
-Computer Science AB 5

When I graduate, I will have taken 8 AP classes, including the four listed above. This year I am taking AP English (designed for the AP Lit test), AP Physics (I'll be taking Mechanics, not sure about E&M), AP Calc BC, and AP Euro. Also, my AP Comp. Sci. class was an independent study that I took with no previous programming experience.

ECs:
-Tennis (JV 9-10, Varsity 11 and hopefully 12)
-School Newspaper (Staff writer 10, Co-Editor of Op/Ed 11-12, Co-Editor of World 12)
- Hi-Q (An academic quiz competition, 10, Main team 11-12)
-Spanish Club (11-12)
-Science Club (10-12)
-World Affairs Club (Vice President 12)
-Robotics (9-10)
-NHS

In addition, I attended Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth program four years in a row from the summer after seventh grade until the summer after tenth grade. There I took the following classes:
-Geopolitics
-Great Revolutions (French and Russian Revolutions)
-Modern European History
-Philosophy of Mind

This past summer I attended the PA Governor's School for International Studies. To get in I had to go through an application process of sorts and apparently the acceptance rate is about 20%.

Awards:
-Numerous class awards, including awards for AP Government and Politics, AP Spanish, and AP Comp. Sci.
-Thomas Jefferson Book Award from University of Virginia
-Bausch and Lomb Science Award
-Maybe some other stuff, but I can't think of it all right now

Recs:
I asked my AP Spanish teacher (who I had for one semester in my sophomore year and all year my junior year) for one. She was the one who gave me the AP Spanish award and wrote me a rec. for PA Gov. School. I also asked my American Literature teacher. He was both my teacher in my junior year and is the faculty advisor for the school newspaper. He told all the editors of the paper that they essentially had to let him write them a rec., so that one should be good.

I also have a really good relationship with my counselor, so I think her rec. will be really good.

Thanks.

You have a good chance at all those schools with your rank and test scores. That being said, HYP are reaches (they are for everyone) b/c ur ECs don't really stick out.

I agree with Karl Marks. But especially with HYP, you never know who will get admitted and who won't.
So good luck =)

Thanks to both of you. Yeah, I know HYP are really unpredictable, but they aren't really at the top of my list. Well, Yale is. But I also really like Columbia and Brown. I'll see.

no chance for columbia,no chance for HYP and any ivies...JHU is alsoa huge reach, georgetown is out of reach.........you might want to add northeastern as reach and bryant university as match...u need a community college for safety

I disagree. I think you will probably get into Columbia ED; worst-case scenario you will be deferred to RD. Georgetown and Tufts are matches; NYU and Penn State are safeties/low matches. The others are all reaches, as they are for most people. Good luck! You'll do great.

lolabelle...embrace your sense of humor XD

Bearcats, comunity college is a match, not a safety. I think burrito wrapper at Taco Bell is a better safety (you will have to compete with people twice your age, however). OP, i am obviously kidding, my quips are merely for the sake of facetiousness.

hmmmmmm....add pheonix university online to that list...i hear it's great for associate degrees in word processing.
other than that, good shot at all...well as good as anyone has at those schools...which ironically isn't very good...but good luck.
^that's a lot of "good"s
