Chances? EZ to read thru!

Everyone on CC are soo competitive! I'm so scared out of my mind!

what's my chance?

SAT: currently 2090, taking it again after some prep in Oct.
SAT II: 800 Math IIc, 720 chem, 740 US History, 800 Korean
TOEFL: expecting perfect score.
GPA: 3.7uw/4.0 3.8 weighted (school only give .5 to APs IF AP test for that course was taken)
Will have taken 8 APs by senior year
very demanding courses
School doesn't rank but I think top 10%. Fairfax County public school. Challenging I guess. avg SAT about 1200. the highest GPA presumably is 4.11 weighted.

Pretty good recs. expected. Recs got me into several good programs. gonna ask same teachers.

ECs.

The representative of my school at county's youth leadership program
The liaison of choral department
Boys State delegate
Boys Nation nominee
Student leader/tutor at charity org.
Student writer for local newspaper
translator
Select Vocal Ensemble participating in various events

Awards.
East coast wide essay contest 1st place winner
Academic letters
American Legion Best Citizen Medal
Award of appreciation for my service from my diocese (church district covering several counties)
St. Paul's award for essay.
buncha district and regional chorus awards
etc.

Ummm hmm..
Asian
came to US 5 years ago
multilangual

I think that's it...

What's my chance?
at
Ivies ED? I know Ivies are reaches for everyone but still....
I would like to know which one I have the best chance at.

Honest opinions please! please help me!

Thanx!

You know, it's good to actually like the schools that you apply to. The Ivy League consists of eight different schools. If you like Dartmouth, there is a good chance you won't be into Columbia. Why? One is in the middle of nowhere, while the other is in New York freakin' City. Before you come around here asking your chances for eight schools in which no one has a 100% chance...hell, not even 90%, find out about them first, kid.

low SAT. low GPA. unimpressive ECs (for ivies)

no chance at HYP. unless you raise your SATs to 2250+, even ED lower ivies will be extremely difficult. good luck though

Should've been clear. I'm sorry.
Well I want to go to Columbia.
But if I apply to Columbia ED, I can't apply to other
Ivies.
So I just wanted to see what are my chances are at other Ivies first
before I jump right ahead and apply to Columbia.

You can apply to other schools regular decision.

I guess, but I won't have benefit of ED...
ED has higher chance of acceptance, right?

Yea I really need to work on the SAT I....
any advises? all of you guys have incredibly high SAT scores..

what's the sat breakdown? if reading is low, go read The Economist (a magazine). if writing, go write and read grammar books. if math, slit your wrist right now

wow... slit your wrist... lol
must be b/c it's so late or something...

well
math is 730
writing is 700
CR is 660

so I guess I gotta read my ass off this summer...

yes, that's the spirit. read The Economist. it's about the only magazine you ever need to know about the world (and learn iiinglish)

hmmm iiinglish joke... is it cuz i'm Asian? lol was funny tho... reminded me of Rush Hour

how should I raise my math score. By the looks of the score I must have gotten like 3~4 wrong.

thanks again Bobert!

BTW are you a student? parent? college rep? college student at HYP?

i'm a government agent

actually, just do ALL 8 of the blue book practice sats with clock. go over EVERY problem. and then do them over again. that's like a guaranteed 200+ increase

thanx

any more chance comment? please?

more help appreciated.
Thank you everyone who left comments!

as i have posted in your OTHER threads:

well, the only purpose for chances threads is to create a realistic list. we can't change your chances. so just add more matches and safeties. what they are requires your OWN research and camp visits.

yeah its tough to tell without a list of schools... columbia is a reach even ED unless your SATs improve (i'm in the same boat)... your ECs are probably your best aspect though... so emphasize those

thanks you so much american in canada and bobert.
Again I apologize to you, bobert, for posting same post.

I will definitely work on my SAT.
When I got my score I was like... omg... and after talking to you guys now i know that I really need to work on that. So thank you all!

Like I said, I'm gonna work on my SAT.

For ED, I don't know which school I should apply to.
My drem school (Princeton)
or math/reach school (JHU)

any advise?
