Chances at Ivies & Ivy Equivalent (Tufts, etc)?

'm a sophomore, so most of this is subject to change.

GRADES:
Freshman Year:
as many honors as possible; a B- & a B+ in final grades

Sophomore:
5 honors; 1 elective (art); health/physed; prob 4 A-s and 4 As

Junior:
Courseload: (assume 3 A-s and 3 As)
AP Bio
AP Stat
AP US History
AP Eng 11
Hon Physics
Hon Precalc

Senior:
Courseload: (assume 3 A-s and 3 As)
AP Eng 12
AP Euro
AP Chem

SATs:
700 CR, 700 W, 750 M (should go up)

SAT IIs:
plan to take Bio, US History, Math 2 (I know I'll own the history & math ones)

Extracurrics:
I moved after 9th grade, so that's why they're so inconsistent.
Model UN - pres, co-founder (member 9th at old school....10th-12th)
Debate (9th-12th)
School Newspaper (10th-12th) - Copy Editor
NHS (11th-12th) - there will be some tutoring involved
Junior Achievement (11th-12th)
Freshman Yearbook Editor (9th...old school)
Red Cross Volunteer Internship (10th-12th during school yr) - prob 200+ hrs by app time
Internship: gubernatorial campaign for Dannel Malloy (D) from CT (summer 06) - 30ish hrs a week
volunteering at hosp last summer (after 9th) (meh...doesn't really count - only 55 hrs)

I'm probably getting a job next year, and that'll be at least 15 hours a week. That's about it as far as extracurriculars go. Good enough?

Most of the Ivies are HUGE stretches I know....And also, what should my safeties be?

I dunno: your grades are just as competitive as many kids applying to the ivies, but the volume of applications greatly reduces your status. The ivies have two reasons for acceptance: amazingly awesome academics with well rounded ecs .... or pretty good academics and extremely awesome extra currics. [Character and teacher recs usually come as a package with one of the two 'options.'].

I don't want to be the one to say they're good enough or not... I will however say that while your red cross volunteering/red cross volunteering is really nice, your grades are up there with everyone else, not really above or below. You may or may not have trouble w/ the 2nd tier schools. With such a high volume of apps to all major/hot/popular schools, it's really impossible to say. Your college conselor should be able to help you out.

Ivy Equivalnets = MIT + Stanford

You have the numbers but lack a vlaer hook. Unless you can find one you're a reach for the upper ivies and have slightly better chances at the lower Ivies.

Nobody can accurately say anything about your chances in October of your Senior year, let alone May of your Sophomore year. Chill out. Speculation is useless.
