Mcgill mgmt?? actually, based on the mark that required the most are(high to low):
Med, Law, Engineer, Dentist, Nurse, thats for last year I think

uh???????????????

my friend told me, he graduated last year but unfortunately he didnt make to mcgill..

are you speaking to me?

well, no one else said "mgmt"

mgmt= management

ohhh, then I dont know about that, but Canada top schools for Canadians are a lot easier than ivies for Americans, well, of course though

For McGill Management, you'll need around a 91% (one of the harder programs to get into) -- that's what the person on the tour said.

Calcruzer, I think the two year college thing you were referring to is CEGEP. It's a two year college in between high school and university which Quebec students are required to go to. However, their stay at a Quebec university is then 3 years long. If you apply from anywhere else in Canada from high school, you have to go through 4 years of study like at any other university.

To get a 90%+ average at a Canadian high school is very difficult. That being said, if you were from Canada with your stats you might be accepted, but McGill is internationally known and they have higher admission standards for internationals. I would say apply but don't get too hopeful.

Prizilla, if I go to CEGEP, how many years I will be in my undergraduate university in the USA, 3 years or 4?

I know they don't mean much for Canadian applicants, but will my SAT scores help any? I've heard from my guidance counselor that Mcgill puts a lot of weight on SAT's for US applicants mainly because they can be used as a way to balance out US grades and grading systems which can be extremely varied from school to school. That being said, will my scores(~2150) help, worsen or have no effect on my chances?

also, I have a very steep upward grade trend from my sophomore and junior years(85%->94%) and I've taken a relatively competetive course load(5-6 AP's and a few hns).

So any final evaluations on my chances at Mcgill?

this is my last bump...I'll stop annoying you now :)

by far i know i dont think they weigh competetive courses as much as US colleges, but SAT can be a good prove, and as long as you wanna provide, ECs will help you too(and again, not as much as ECs in the states)

in Montreal(the city where Mcgill is in), they only require students' mark and teachers' recommandations.

hmm I can get good recommendations too :)

you can just call the admission office sometime other than admission season, they are willing to tell you all the things you need include things like averge students' marks

Liangshentm, if you go to CEGEP in Quebec I'm pretty sure that you've still got to go throguh four years of an American colelge.

"Grade 10, 11 and 12 academic results will be considered, but special attention will be paid to results from those courses most relevant to the intended program of study." <-- That's from the McGill website, sagarmatha, so I guess if you can do very well in the first semester of your grade 12 year you'll have a better chance. They also consider your SAT II for American applicants, so what kind of scores do you have there? http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/usminimumscores/ <--minimum SAT and ACT scores.

Prizilla, do colleges from the USA weigh my Record in CEGEP more than my high school? or they dont even consider my high school much and just see my CEGEP?
