chances at Michigan,Wisconsin

Chances for University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and University of Wisconsin-Madison?

Ethnicity: White male

Location: NY

GPA: Our school gives number grades out of 100 so my weighted average from 9-11 grade is 99.604. It would therefore be a 4.0 GPA.
Rank: Top 25% out of approx. 140 students (Very competitive grade)

SAT I: 550 math, 570 verbal, 630 writing (1120 without writing, 1750 with writing) I am retaking the SAT in October
SAT II: 700 US History
ACT: Will take in October

Activities: (All from grades 9-12):
Wrestling, baseball, chamber singers, interact community service club, students against drunk driving, newspaper club

Awards:
All-State Chorus (I made it in 11th grade but did not make it in 12th grade)
All-County Chorus (grade 9,10,11,12)
All-County Wrestling (grade 11)

Community Service:
35 hours at the Boys and Girls Club (grade 9)

Work Experience:
General counselor at the Boys and Girls Club summer camp, have my own small business on eBay, and some other small jobs.

AP Scores:
AP European History: 3
AP American History: 3
AP Language and Composition: 2

Currently taking AP Government, AP Spanish, AP Physics, AP Literature

So therefore I took a combined 7 AP classes by the end of high school and the rest a majority of honors classes.

I also received an A from my college credit public speaking class at UCLA during a summer program.

I am mostly worried about my SAT scores because I think my GPA and all other stuff is fine, hopefully. I don’t know how the writing scores will factor in to the admissions. I am fairly confident my SAT scores will raise but I want to know how I stand at this precise moment.

I would greatly appreciate some of your insights!

If you have a 99.6 average (4.0) how come you are only top 25% and not valedictorian?

What kind of grades does the average (50percentile) student have at your school?

Oldwick

Well, I know that the cut off for top 10% at my school is 3.93, so I can see that.

Anyways, Michigan's #1 factor is GPA, and you have a good one. But it's weighted, so it's not as impressive. Michigan recalculates it and will lower it significantly. They get rid of freshman year grades, they get rid of all non academic classes, they get rid of all grade boosts, and they get rid of all pluses and minuses, giving you a 4 for an A (90 and above), 3 for a B (80-90) etc.

So your "Michigan" GPA will be lower, and your test scores just aren't even in their ballpark for an OOS applicant. It's a REACH for you.

99.604 out of 100 weighted but people have over 100 like 110 averages (VERY RARE). My grade has averages well over 100 to like 108 I think is the highest this year. You understand what I'm saying?

The grades are WEIGHTED just like someone with a 4.5-5.0 GPA would be like 105-110 GPA, something like that.
