Chances at MIT (Early Action)

What do you guys think of my chances at MIT?
Here are my statistics:

-GPA: Unweighted 4.0

-AP Classes taken: English 11 AP (test not taken), currently taking Calculus AP - PLEASE NOTE: My high school offers only 5 AP Courses (AP Biology, AP French, AP Statistics, English 11 AP, and Calculus AP) - the only AP classes I'm interested in I have taken or am taking. My school is very rural and very bare-bones.

-Post-secondary at local college

-ACT Composite: 29
-English: 34
-Math: 26
-Sci. Reas.: 28
-Reading: 26

-Will take SAT I if differed to regular admission pool.

-SAT II
-Math IIc: 670
-Physics: 700
-Writing: 700

-Extracurricular:
-NHS Chapter VP (11, 12)
-Robotics Team (10, 11, 12) (Captain 11)
-Ski Club (12)
-Academic Challenge (quiz team) (10, 12)
-Biology Lab Aide/Researcher (9, 10, 11, 12)
-Spanish Club (11, 12)
-Russian lessons taken from Spanish teacher (10, 11)
-Volunteered various vacation days to set up technology labs, biology labs
-Helped to integrate multimedia system into Biology labs

Also,
I have a friend also applying to MIT. He has a 30 Composite ACT, a 790 SAT I Math (don't know his verbal score), an 800 on his SAT II Math IIc, and some rather weak Physics and History scores. What are his chances?

Thanks guys!

Frankly speaking, slim chances

Rather weak SAT IIs & ACTs for MIT, but you still have a chance. If your essays were well written, and you emphasized the impact of your ECs on you, then I would say you have a 30%-40% chance of getting in. Definitely take the SATs in January if you can (if deferred). Your friend has a good chance, but what were his SAT IIs?

alexmcavoy@gmail.com

A math of a 26 is only probably a 550 or so in SAT speak... You probably need about a 33 at the least

I don't really know about his other scores other than that they were probably less than 650 or so. I forgot to mention that he has literally no ECs to speak of and has only been working for about six months. Does this significantly reduce his chances even with the test scores?

What do you guys think given my friend's lack of ECs?

Your lab research should be a definite plus at MIT, as well as your robotics club/captain. i've heard nearly all applicants who get admitted have done some sort of research, and that's often a deciding factor. And, mit is very big on robotics.
Good luck!
