My GPA is a 3.9 on a 4 pt scale, but my situation is a bit different because my family has moved a lot and I've been to 3 high schools. I am very involved outside of academics, with community service, singing, varsity sports, clubs (with leadership positions), summer research internship, etc. (sorry if this sounds like I'm bragging.) but my ACT is only 30. (I scored a 34 on reading, 34, on writing, 28 on math and 25 on science...ha ha.) Do you think this automatically wipes out any chances of getting in to somewhere like Tufts? Are there any personal stories of people with scores of 30 getting in to Tufts, etc? Lastly, do you think if I do apply, would choosing a major like English as opposed to Biology give me a higher chance of getting in? (I would really like to either pursue an English/Creative writing path or a bio-research career...yeah my interests are really random :p )

Thanks for your input!
