Just as the title says; I would like to know what my chances at NYU, Cornell, Columbia, JHU, Princeton, and MIT are and what I could possibly do to improve my chances. I'll be a senior next year, so I still have some time.

Solid SAT score with great GPA and fabulous SAT IIs As far as stats go, you look perfect. The ECs do seem a little bit weak, they’re good and show interest but not particularly outstanding at a certain area. MIT will also be a huge reach because you dont have any distinguishing math/science/engineering awards. Match for NYU, Cornell, and JHU if you write good essays. Reach for all the others because…well…of the schools that they are
I would have chanced you earlier except I was off gallivanting outside Buut, chance me back if you have time? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736548-chance-me-top-schools-ivies.html
p.s. i forgot, you also have a veryyy rigorous courseload, so that boosts your chances at the reaches as well GL!

chanced ya fuzzyfirebunny, great stats and ECs btw.
As for my ECs, what do you think I can do to improve them?
On my resume I was thinking of dividing them up into ECs related to school,
ie. Comp TIA & Chess and Go ; and those related to sports ie. tennis, swimming, track
Would it look better to emphasize fewer ECs that I have dedicated myself to?

As for Honors/APs, I definitely took more honors courses than APs mainly because I thought that I should take APs in subjects that I particularly enjoyed, hopefully honors courses have some merit as well.

I think that your stats are fine for really any of these schools, very good SAT and great SAT IIs and gpa/rank is really good too. I think the focus on your ECs also is strong and the TIA license shows strong tech interests.

BUMP
Chanced all of u.
BTW, if its not too much to ask, could anyone briefly tell me what I should do or continue doing for senior yr? (ie. which ECs to emphasize; what would be an ideal number of APs that seem challenging and yet aren’t too much of a burden, because I’m exhausted as it is)
Senior Course Curriculum:
AP Calculus BC (self-studied somewhat beforehand–this summer)
AP Statistics (may drop)
Multivariable Calculus - supplement to AP calc
AP Biology (self-studied somewhat beforehand–this summer)
AP Computer Science A (in the bag; I’m a technician for Christ’s sake)
AP Micro/Macro Economics (may drop)
Regular English

retake to get your reading comp score up and you could be in anywhere. gauranteeedd anywhere i mean. as it stands you have a really good chance at all of them.

True, retaking the exam to bring up my reading comp may help, but that will only improve my superscore, not the total score for an exam taken in one sitting. Some colleges may accept the superscore while others are not, so I’m kinda unsure about it. But I would consider it if the score option applied…can I choose which scores I want to send because on some college sites they say they will count the highest scores from each section, indicating that they do receive more than 1 exam score.
