Oh, and my essay will be amazing. It will make my less-than-perfect GPA seem insignificant in comparison. I've tried to show a sustained interest in journalism; does that come across clearly?

P.S. Please don't quote any of this, or refer to my employers by name. I want to edit this later.

Bump. Please reply.

Hmm...is your GPA weighted or unweighted?

If its a weighted GPA then all of those schools are reaches for you.

Nice solid line of ECs though.

if you are interested, you should look at northwestern also. i believe it is close to chicago/is in chicago.

there is really no grantee for nyu so dont build too much hope on it.

Well, logically, these schools have to admit some (very few, I know) applicants with lower GPAs. They can't all be 4.0s.

That's not my GPA now; that's my projected GPA for senior year. Weighted. Yikes.

Oh, well then if thats your weighted projected GPA then I hate to say it...but you have a VERY slight chance. Sure, these schools don't admit everyone with a perfect 4.0...but they do admit people with GPAs at least remotely close to that.

All reaches. Your GPA is too low.

You are an ORM from an overrepresented state with sub par stats. NYU looks good but I doubt the others, even Princeton as a legacy.
