My essays are pretty good and my teacher rec is great (it's from my English 3/AP Lit & Comp/Philosophy teacher, who happens to have four students currently at NYU and mentioned as much in his letter), but I'm concerned about my less-than-stellar GPA and lacking extracurriculars. I took Japanese at a community college for two semesters, so when those credits were transferred, they kind of wrecked my GPA (it was a 3.67 beforehand). My college counselor also told me that two semesters of Japanese at at community college would be equivelant to the two-year foreign language requirement. Is this true? (It'd better be true -- yikes!) And in addition to the Japanese I learned, I also speak Spanish.

I applied to CAS with an intended major in Journalism.

So what's the verdict? Am I screwed? Is there hope for, at least, GSP?
Any feedback would help. At least to ease my nerves a bit. This waiting sucks.
