hey, im applying to penn, uc berkeley, carnegie mellon, u of maryland, and nyu... i want to study business. what do you think my chances are given my stats?

Other Info
I have received a couple of awards for high scores in math competitions (AMC etc)
I did a summer business program at UPenn. 75% of applicants who went to the program from 2003 were accepted the next fall.
I have also had 2 other jobs and volunteered 350 hours as a Camp Counselor one summer.
Upenn is by far my first choice, but I did not want to apply early.

And one more interesting thing... I have moved all over the world while growing up (lived in 5 countries). This has made for a really good essay. Also my recommendations are good, and given that I am studying business I guess its good that they are from Math and Economics teachers. My brother went to Upenn, is this any sort of advantage?

Any idea on my chances, or other schools I should apply to given my achievements & interests in business and entrepreneurship?
Thanks!

i have to bump this...

bump bump bump bump bump

With your grades and boards, you CERTAINLY have as good a chance as anyone. It will depend on your essay, how many kids apply from your high school and your area, and your recommendations. However, based on just stats: you are a shoe in

yo taxguy, you live in rockville? i lived in potomac for 3 years. i went to whitman before i moved to indonesia for 3 months, then back to DC, and then to toronto. which school do you go to?

nvm, i didnt see your age there. sorry

Yes, I am an old codger.

Here's my opinion about your chances at:

UPenn...Good
UC-Berkeley...Very Good
Carnagie Mellon...Excellent
UM-College Park...Excellent
NYU...Excellent

Hope this is of use.

im just curious to how your weighting system works, how do you go from 3.6 to 4.3, please explain, b/c the only weighting my school gives is .5 to ap classes, so the most a student can get at my school would be a 4.0 unweighted, and about 4.2-4.3 weighted, and thats with like 0-2-4-7 ap's from grades 9-12

thanks for the help, guys... anyone else?

i'd say you're pretty much in all of them. definitely cmu maryland and nyu..little less chance for penn. not sure bout berkeley if you're not from cali

bump bump bump bump

dont be bashful... anyone else with ideas?

bump bump bump

Also great: UVA, UNC, Emory, Michigan. That would fill out your applications really well.
