My d is a 15 year-old high school sophomore, and is very interested in Pomona. We live in CT. She has a 4.0 unweighted GPA, takes all honors courses, but we live in a small town that provides few AP courses. She'll be taking AP US History as a junior and is on track for AP Bio, AP US and Comparative Gov't, AP English Lit and AP Calc her senior year. But she's contemplating leaving high school after her junior year at attend college.

She's taken top honors in mathematics and history last year, has been inducted into the Junior Classical League for Latin and will likely be admitted to NHS this year. Her primary extracurricular is her commitment to the largest youth theater in the state, and she is currently in the starring role of their fall performance. She spends approximately 15 hours+ per week in this activity approximately 12 weeks in the fall and the spring. This past summer she attended the Center for Creative Youth at Wesleyan University, where she stayed on campus for five weeks studying theater (Suzuki method) and stage combat, and is presently engaged in a leadership project at a local, socio-economically disadvantaged elementary school to complete her CCY program and be awarded 1.5 honors credit.

She is fortunate insofar as she seems equally proficient in the hard sciences and mathematics as she is in the arts and humanities.

Our concern, however, is that her chances of admission will be negatively affected by the lack of AP offerings at her high school, as well as their rigidity allowing juniors to take any AP course save for US History.

Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? I am really concerned that she'll be behind the 8-ball simply because we are in a small regional school district.
