First, let me say that those are some very, umm, interesting-sounding clubs you're in. I've certainly never heard of some of them (Recycling Club, Random Acts of Kindness Club, Foreign Foods Club). They may be seen as "padding" when you do your applications, so I would think about whether you believe they will help you in your admissions indeed, or if they might just get in the way and clutter the more useful things you're involved with.

If you can raise that much money and you have a leadership role in doing so that will be pretty impressive. You should elaborate on it and use it as a talking point as much as possible (without overdoing it). I see that you already intend to do this: good idea.

As for your chances, I'm not too sure. I don't know those schools well enough to give you an answer. However, I hope I've at least brought your attention to some points, even though I didn't answer your actual question. ;)

Recycling Club and Foreign Food Club are just clubs I do, I probably won't even put them on my application.

As for random acts of kindness.....it is a real big deal. You just have to know what it is all about.

I also for got to put I've been in CSF all of high school.

I believe you when you say it's a big deal, but I've personally never heard of it, so if you're going to include it you'll definitely want to elaborate on what it is so that the recipient of the application is informed. Always assume ignorance.

Another example: what is CSF?

Oh.....its the california scholarship federation. You have to have a 3.5 each semester of high school....you get a seal on your diploma and you have more scholarship opportunities.

I guess it is an award/ec because we have meetings and officers, but I think it is more of an award.

And I have a question about recycling club for you?

The club basically brings environmental awareness to are high school. We put recycling boxes in each classroom for paper and plastics. We organize events like bike to school day to minimize air pollution.

Does that sound like a club worthy of an application or just something that isn't worth mentioning?

I think that its title may not portray its actual importance very well. For example, "bike to school" has little to do with recycling, but certainly is good for the environment, like recycling. So, a more encompassing title for the club might be useful, as it seems very narrow as of now, and as I said, could be taken as a way you are trying to pad your resume, so to speak.

The club does sound like something worth mentioning, but if I were you I'd really try to bring it up in a different way than just a list. Maybe make one of your short essays about some of your clubs, and include this one in there.

thanks. The club goes by recycling club or environmental club or conservation club....so I guess i'll go with one of the latter 2

Anyone want to estimate my chances???

bring up my post...
