My Chances For UC's

UCLA (Doubt It), UCSD, UCSB, and UCI....Also SDSU as a safety.

10th Grade

Geometry B/C
Video Production A/A
Biology B/A
Spanish 2 A/A
English A/A
HL Math Analysis B/B
UW/W GPA = 3.5/3.67

11th Grade

HL Spanish 3 A/A
AP Calculus A/A
HL Chemistry A/A
AP English B/B
US History A/A
Journalism A/A
UW/W GPA = 3.83/4.5

UC GPA = 4.00
SAT 1 = M(690), V(580), W(610) = 1880
I think I can get 2000 on my next try
SAT 2 = I haven't taken them yet, but I just took the avg. of my SAT 1 scores.....so Math2 and Chem are 625

Community Service = My main things are Relay-4-Life and Key Club and throughout highschool I will have atleast 100 hours, but I'm hoping for 200+ hours. I will also become the Vice President of Key Club my senior year.

Clubs and Sports = I play tennis at the junior varsity level, but my school has almost 3000 students. I am a top 3 player on my team if that means anything.
I'm also really good at volleyball, but there is no male volleyball team at my high school....so I'm the treasurer of a volleyball club. I hope to play on a club team or maybe D2 if I go to UCSD
I'm also in journalism and as a senior I will be one of the editors.
I'm also a member of a sign language club at my school.

Awards + Academic Programs = CSF (I hope to Vice President), Numerous academic achievement letters. Medals and Trophees (Spelling?) for tennis. I'm also signed up for EAOP.

My dream schools are UCSB and UCSD......UCLA would be great too.

I know UCSD uses a comprehensive review and the cut off was 7500, my points total around 8500 so does that mean I'm in?

Also with my stats do I need to apply to any more schools or am I safe with UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, and SDSU?

Thanks In Advance + Sorry For The Long Post

horrible SAT (your reading is in the 500 range, definately not high calibre). Generic ECs and community service, you got a C in geometry, nuh uh.... sorry, very slim chances...

Oistrakh --- I hope you are being sarcastic, bc you are seriously misinforming the original poster.

Your SAT's are higher than UCSB, UCI, and SDSU....And if you get 2000 they will be higher than UCSD. Maybe not UCLA's, but still very good.

With your gpa you should definately get into UCSB, UCI, and SDSU and if your UCSD point total is at 8500 then you will also get in there.

Your EC's aren't amazing, but are still very good. They show you are well rounded and have leadership and academics achievements which is good enough for all of the schools you listed.

So I say you are in at all of them except UCLA, but you said you would prefer UCSB or UCSD so no big deal!!

But if you happen to perform extremely well (2100+) on the next SAT you take then maybe you'll get into UCLA aswell.

I also want to clarify I live in California, and I got ELC.

Bump.....I'm just trying to reassure myself

SATs aren't horrible. They're okay. I don't think community service counts for too much really. ECs are...ehh. Anyway, I think you have a pretty good chance at UCSB or UCSD. Good luck.

If you are ELC, you will be admitted to a UC. Which one is unknown at this time, although likely to be Irvine or Riverside. Assuming you do well on SAT II's, you should have a decent chance at UCSB,UCSD is a reach, and UCLA will be a significant reach (as you suspect).

where does it tell you what SAT scores goes with what UC.?

UC's Get Hyphy:

UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCSB: Match
