I’m just looking at a broad range of colleges here, like Tufts, Cornell, Macalester, and University of Florida
34 ACT (35 english, 30 math, 35 reading, 34 science) (also I improved the math to a 33 on a second take, but I did worse overall the second time)
Unweighted GPA is a 3.56, but my grades have overall improved
Weighted is a 4.31
AP’s: US History & English Lang (11th), Euro, Calc AB, Chem, Lit, and macro/gov (each semester classes) (12th)
My EC’s aren’t that great, but I am heavily involved in my high school’s theatre department, I am in most of the shows, and I’m also a member of a tutoring club that tutors students in math and science
I am a white male florida resident, no hooks whatsoever
What are theoretically the most prestigious colleges I have a reasonable chance of getting into with these stats?
Do you have subject test scores? How will your recommendations be? How will your essays be? Also, which state are you from (assuming that you are a domestic applicant), and how much can you afford?
I have yet to take subject tests, I’m unsure about recommendations (although they’ll probably be positive), my essay will probably be good as well, and I’ve already stated that I’m a Florida resident. We can probably pay 10k, give or take, yearly.
Look at some of the threads where admitted students post their stats, for the colleges and universities you are looking at.
I was accepted to Cornell University (only one I can help you with, sorry), so I can post my stats if you want. Oh, BTW, if you’re able, take the SAT as well.
ACT: 35 (M 34 R 35 W 34 S 36)
SAT Composite: 1520, but I have no clue about the new SAT
GPA: UW 3.95 W 4.05
1 AP sophomore year (world history), 3 AP’s junior year (us history, chem, comp sci A), 3 AP’s senior year (Physics 1 w/ C, French, Calc BC) with one dual enrollment (Economics)
My EC’s aren’t that great either, but I am an officer for Robotics, we’ve won some awards
Cornell might not see you as very interested, though. You cannot afford very much and FL is very far from NY (but if your household make less than 60k for a family of four, you’ll pretty much pay nothing should you get accepted). Yeah, on the finance side, I’d say look at schools that can either pay you a ton of need-based aid or have a lower price tag.
