Hi, I applied to Syracuse RD. I was wondering if you could tell me what you think my chances are. I have a Weighted GPA of 2.94 and a Superscore ACT of a 28. I come from an elite private school in midwest and we have a good relationship with the University. I also have lots of extracurriculars (sports, leadership position, and internships). I know my GPA is slow so I was wondering what my chances are or if anyone has gotten in with my stats before. Thanks!
I’m applying to Syracuse too, but with a lower GPA and a 35 on the ACT. my gpa is unweighted, however, so it’s probably higher if weighted. More importantly, which school are you applying to? i think that really will determine your chances.
Not sure how me applying to other schools would determine my chances of getting syracuse? how does that make sense?
I am apply to Colleges of Arts and Sciences
Ignore the comment above I misunderstood your question
if you dont mind me asking how tf do you have lower than a 2.9 which isnt that great yet have almost a perfect ACT score? idk if that is going to go over well with admissions
@NoPayneNoGain , I go to a selective STEM magnet high school that is ranked top 5 in the country and we have a very rigorous curriculum and unweighted GPAs. all my classes are APs and IBs, and I got a 35 on the ACT because I am a naturally good test taker and I did not need to prep for the test beforehand. The reason I have a low gpa besides the fact that it is unweighted is because I’ve had to work 45+ hours a week at my jobs all throughout high school because we are not financially stable, and my aunt who supported us financially passed away last year. I explained all of this in my application and hope my situation will be understood at least a little bit.
@cklkjhck SU alum here. I don’t often respond to what are my chances threads, but reading your story makes me want to tell you that you are awesome! And, yes, if you told your story in your SU application, I would say that you have a very good chance of being accepted.
@MSMDAD thank you so much for your reply!! that’s really encouraging for me to hear, and I’m praying i can get accepted because it has always been my absolute dream school. I just wanted to let you know that your comment really made my day and I appreciate your support. I’ll keep you updated on my results!
