I have great Recs and Essays

I'm shooting for the following Business Undergrad colleges (Financial Aid none):

UMich Ann Arbor
NYU
UTexas at Austin
Emory University
Washington University

Safeties:
GaTech and UGA

I'm obviously shooting for an A average at the end of this year and for next Semester as a Senior. Chances are I will go for a Student Council Representative for Senior year.

...do I have any chances in any of these colleges? Yes, No, Advice? Anything is appreciated.

Thanks so much for all of your help!
shubhsinghi6700 is invisible

.... Anyone?

Not even one reply?

hopefully u can get ur sat to the high 1900's
my friend got a 1650 on the sat and got into mich.
although he is hispanic...

Thanks!

Yeah, i'm really working to get those SATs up

anyone else...c'mon guys, help me out here =)

I chuckled when I saw 3.6 and 1260 and some of the schools you listed

HUGE REACH: Wash U, Emory
REACH: Michigan, NYU, Texas
SAFETY: Georgia Tech, Georgia

For what it's worth, Wash U and Emory don't have top business schools.

no worries shubhsinghi. some people on CC are really harsh because expectations are so high. but i think if u take one sat II and do like a 700+ on it, it will strengthen ur chances as well

UMich Ann Arbor - slim chance
NYU - slim chance
UTexas at Austin - good chance / in
Emory University - no chance
Washington University - no chance

Safeties:
GaTech - goood chance (not a safety)
UGA - in

Thanks for your opinions A2Wolf,

however, Emory and Wash U are in the top 10 in undergrad business.

and i honestly don't think i have "no chances' in emory

i have a few friends who got in with a 3.5 and 1900 SAT

According to who?

US News:
1. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) 4.8
2. Massachusetts Inst. of Technology (Sloan) 4.6
3. University of California-Berkeley (Haas) * 4.5
3. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor * 4.5
5. New York University (Stern) 4.3
5. U. of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (Kenan-Flagler) * 4.3
5. University of Texas-Austin (McCombs) * 4.3
8. Carnegie Mellon University (PA) 4.2
9. Univ. of Southern California (Marshall) 4.1
9. University of Virginia (McIntire) * 4.1

Business Week:
1. Penn
2. Virginia
3. Notre Dame
4. MIT
5. Emory
6. Michigan
7. NYU
8. BYU
9. Texas
10. Indiana

As for Emory, I don't doubt that someone may have gotten in with those stats. However, that may have been a rare case. The average GPA for Emory is 3.75. The mean SAT is about 1385. Your friend's numbers fall below that. And Emory only accepts 31%.

I don't like to say "no chance" because the only way you don't have a chance is if you don't apply. However, chances are lower than average - which is 31%.

I also disagree with the poster who said that Texas was a "good chance". First off, 75% of the class is reserved for ranking schools in Texas. Then the following 25% is for the top applicants in non-ranking schools in Texas, and OOS applicants. While Texas isn't a very difficult school to get into in-state, OOS it is very difficult, and for McCombs, it's near impossible. McCombs only accepts 20% of their applicants, and being OOS, 75% of the accepted applicants are in-state.
