I think my essays are at least decent. I got good reviews from everyone except one person. My teacher/counselor/tennis coach's recommendations should also be good. My tennis coach is pretty famous in the college world, and I had him write me a recommendation for Stanford and USC. don't know if that will help. I want to major in Chemistry and do Premed, but as my scores show, I did much better at English. don't know if that will hurt.

Schools I'm applying to:
Stanford (Single Choice Early Action)
USC (and Baccalaureate/MD Program)
Georgetown
Princeton
Johns Hopkins
Claremont McKenna
UCLA
UCSD
UCI
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Cal State Long Beach

its a crapshoot, but do it

Stanford (Single Choice Early Action) - rejected
USC- in (and Baccalaureate/MD Program)-not
Georgetown-OK chance
Princeton-no chance
Johns Hopkins-OK chance
Claremont McKenna-good chance
UCLA-good chance
UCSD-in
UCI-in
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo-in
Cal State Long Beach-in

I'm confused, are you a tennis recruit? If yes good chance at all. If no, I can't see Stanford or Princeton, shot at the others.

any other opinions?

unfortunately, unless there are scouts at the sectionals this weekend, I would have to say that I am not being recruited.

Don't post your essays like this; you can't control who will look at it and possibly copy your writing.

I agree that Stanford/Princeton will be a major stretch. Possible? Yes. Likely? No. The 690, esp. for a science related field, is so close yet so far. Other than that, I think you have a well rounded list.

thanks for my stanford essay.

Posting an essay is not a very smart thing to do, and in general, very smart people don't do very smart things, and stanford accepts very smart people. Use deductive reasoning.

I'd ask the mods to delete this, but I'll give you my opinion. It's not good. You make some classic mistakes here. First, the essay tells us nothing about you though Danielle might be accepted! It's pure drama, highlights tragedy for no reason we can discern other than the pre med cliche and wastes word count with quickening breath and stalkings around corners. Sorry, but I'd start over.

I agree with suze on this one. The essay doesn't tell us much about you. It is well written, but the point of the essay is to give the school a deeper understanding of who you are, and it doesn't really do that. I'm truly sorry for all the grief your family had to go through but the essay doesn't give any reason why you should be admitted, it just relates a tragic event. Tell more about how you sister's plight affected you personally, how it changed your perspective, etc., and i think that will make a big difference.

does it help that I applied early action for stanford?

your aps are screwy, your sats are low, but everything else is fine. Goodluck with scea.

yeah, I figured that my strong points were my GPA and ECs. Even though Stanford says that they look at everyone the same regardless of when they apply, how much weight do they really give SCEA applicants?

~~~~~~bump!
can anyone give me approximate chances??!!
........bump.......
Can anyone give me some chances, please???
A 2180 SAT sucks? So what do we need to be average, 2400? 2500?
bumpity boo
