Chances at Stanford, Harvard, Berkeley, UCLA, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Columbia, Emory, and Brown

Hello everyone! I am currently a junior (11th grade) student and I was just worried/curious about my chances of getting into a top tier school. I have not done some required things yet due to me still being a junior, but what do you guys think are my chances looking at what I have now? Please be honest and thanks in advance!

AP’s Taken: Freshman (1) Sophomore (3) Junior (6)
SAT: I haven’t taken it yet, but practice scores range from 1500+
SAT 2: N/A

  5. Started/President of Taekwondo Club at my highschool
  6. Member of National Honors Society
  7. Member of Mu Alpha Theta
  8. Member of National Science Honors Society
  9. 3 Years of Spanish
  10. 2 Times Presidential Volunteer Service Award: (Gold Rank)
  11. Korea Congress Award for Volunteer over summer
  12. Public Forum Debater
    -> Going to compete in State Qualifiers in January
  13. Interned at UGA for biotechnology (DNA work) during Fall Break
  14. Member of Student Council
  15. Volunteer 2x a week to teach Taekwondo to special needs kids
  16. Started an organization to help teach Korean special needs kids at church
  17. Going to apply for internship or volunteer over Summer of Junior Year
  18. Going to compete in State Leadership Conference for both FBLA and HOSA

To be honest, my parents and others have been telling me how I don’t have a chance in Ivy League, so I just wanted an outside opinion. Thanks so much guys!

Are you from Georgia?? As the majority of high ranking colleges do, colleges will slightly(or heavily depends) favor in-state residents. Therefore, at least, Emory sounds great for you! If you are pursuing in STEM field, why don’t you also consider Georgia Tech?

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats are good and your ECs are great. Having depth and achievement in your ECs is what many admissions officers look for. Write amazing essays and you could get accepted to any school

It has passed mid March and you don’t have any official test score yet, you are a bit behind those competitive applicants. These are all reach schools and your projected stat would be around or below average applicants. Are you sure you want to pay $60k+ per year?
