Chances at Stanford, UCLA, Berkeley, other recommendations?

Hi I'm brand new to this site.

Currently a Senior

3.6 UW 3.8 Weighted GPA-important issue as to why it is not as competitive. Also, took a challenging course load.

SAT: 2090

Tutor since 9th grade
Have tutored various subjects from pre-algebra to biology

By when I graduate, I will have attended three high schools, for private reasons/issues. Reason as to why GPA is not as competitive and not as many years with clubs and sports.

Your GPA is really going to hold you back from getting into these schools. I’d raise my SAT score to compensate. If you have a good enough reason, that might make it not as harmful.

As of now no chance at stanford(gpa and sat) others are possible

About how high should my SAT be, more or less?

With that GPA I’m going to say a 2200/2250 for Berkeley. It’s possible, you just have to study.

Ok thanks, the 2090 is just an idea from the first practice test, I have not taken the official SAT. I know my writing score will definitely go up, due to there being an essay. Does it help that I’m hispanic? (:

I’m not sure if being hispanic helps. I know being asian helps at Berkeley, though I suppose that doesn’t apply to you :P.

Just remember to practice. Get an SAT prep book, if you don’t already have one, and go through all of the practice tests/study the material. The next SAT test is October 7th (deadline is coming up), so you still have a lot of time to study.

Edit: Also, what are you planning on majoring in?

Alright and I am planning to take the one in October. Biology or Public Health.

Any other advice?

Bump bump.
