Chances at Stern

What are my chances of getting into Stern regular decision? Here is some of my info:

NJ public school (ranked #10 in state)

SAT I: M-760, V- 600, W- 680

SAT II: MATH IC- 750, MATH IIC- 800, CHINESE- 800, BIOLOGY- 630

4.02 GPA; rank #23 out of 288 (top 8%)

EC: Art club (treasurer), Computer Club (Secretary), NHS... nothing that significant

academic record: mostly A's and B's in honors and AP courses

AP exams: Computer Science A- 5, Biology- 4
I'm taking 7 more in senior year

good recommendations from computer science and math teacher.

Am I better off applying to NYU in general and not to a specific school?

Thanks guys!

Your stats seem decent; I would say it puts you in the running for Stern. You acknowledged that your ECs aren't that significant; I would actively try to change that--do something you're passionate about senior year.

You have to apply to a specific school, can't apply to NYU at large; they only allow you to apply to one school, so you need to decide what you want to do, and which school is a good fit for you.

I'm not that active in school, but I have a lot of work experience and other activities outside of school. Would that help? Thanks for all the info. :)

Anybody else want to comment?
