im really nervous about getting in because i dont want to go anywhere else nor have i applied anywhere else. i cant find any other college that i like and i dont have time to search because i have been studying to raise my SATs thats i will be taking jan 22nd.

It might be that your SAT, especially verbal, seems a bit low.
TCNJ's midpoint is about 1240, i think.
Your GPA and ECs seem good.
Good luck............and please do find at least a few other schools just in
case!

yea their avg SAT is 1240. ive tried college searching numerous times, although not as much as i should have, but i cant seem to find what im looking for so really the only thing i can do right now is get a better SAT score.

TCNJ has gotten very competitive in the past few years. I think it's important to raise your SAT, your other stats are great, but you must have a back up school. There are lots of schools that are very similiar, all of them out of state. NJ schools are not vey impressive, for the most part. Good luck on your next text, and please, apply to other schools, just in case. JMO

yea i just got finished saying how unimpressive all the other nj public colleges are. any ideas on where else i can apply? i dont wanna go far. i just took the SATs on sat so hopefully i went up.

I am curious why you find the other NJ schools umimpressive. What is your prospective major? Rutgers is considered a public ivy and has national name recognition. What about Rowan? They have raised their standards and are also well respected.

That's JMO, Rowan does not qualifies as selective it's ranked #34 in the North, hardly impressive, TCNJ is ranked #5, after Villanova, Providence, Fairfield and Loyola. Did you consider Ramapo,Drew, University of Delaware or some smaller out of state schools?

yea theyre all too expensive except rutgers, ramapo, and rowan. i wanted to apply to university of delaware but it seemed a bit expensive and far and itd be too late to apply there b/c i wouldnt get any money b/c theyre already done with applying for scholarship money. i liked drew until i found out how many students go there and how small it is. it is also really expensive, and i heard its completely dead there all the time. i liked rutgers a lot but my rents hate it because its so big and i dont think theyd even let me apply there because of how big it is. ramapo is a lot like tcnj, but my entire high school is going there and i do not want to go somewhere with the rest of my high school. rowan i havent really looked at b/c i havent really heard anything special about them, but idk i could be wrong. i kinda liked montclaire, but i dunno. i was under the impression that i was not going to get any scholarship money from colleges unless i had like a 1300 SAT, but now i hear different and its already too late for pretty much all scholarship money. i am looking for a school that has a good business program and is not really far. i have a real good chance of getting into tcnj because of the interest ive shown in them. nothing is a guarantee though especially with the type of people i hear are starting to apply there. im just really afraid that im going to end being stuck at ocean county college and miss out on my first year of college. i would get free tuition from my high school because im in top 20%, but i know id still be miserable there all alone. i will probably have no choice and apply to ramapo because the only thing holding me back is that its going to be like my high school all over again with the same people. i am just looking to meet new people, but not be far from home.

thank you everyone very much for commenting i really appreciate it that u guys took the time out to read my posts. sorry if i sound pessimistic im just so frustrated and stressed out about all this college stuff.

Don't rule out TCNJ because your fear that it will be 'all your high school buds' there.

Our son is loving it there (1st year) and barely sees or hangs with the 3 other kids from his HS that are there. He has a (sophomore) girlfriend and quite a few pretty close new friends from his major and or dorm floor.

The school has much to offer and sounds like you have a shot at it.
Best of luck...
