Thanks for the chance, FP9.
I'm "strictly" (using this term loosely) focusing on my top three college choices. How well do I 'fit the bill' for those schools?

I say your in at alot of places. I am I the same situation as us, *****ed around freshman year and got back on track, and I am applying to alot of the same schools next year. Good Luck!

Chance Me???

Hey, NKBaseballbum18,
I know what you mean by "slacking off" during freshman year. For me, I think it leaned more towards finding out who I was-- you know? Also, my school system has 9th grade still in middle school. That played a minor role in the GPA, too. Like I said, I was always the "quite" kid in school ever since moving from Philadelphia to the suburbs of Pennsylvania around 4th grade. Ever since 10th grade, I've had more opportunities and "freedom" to do more with the community. That definitely taught me many lessons and to set my life on the right track-- it got me thinking.

I think you do.
I have similar stuff as you, and Im even half Japanese (dont know what type of Asian you are) and people tell me BU and BC are matches. I dont want to go to Nova just yet so I wouldnt know about that.

FP9,
I've noted that I am Asian (specifically Korean). That answers the first part of your post. What I'm looking for is a strong hook that will convince (or even bring emotions to admissions) when I apply for colleges next year. I look at people with GPAs of say, 3.7, and I laugh at the proposition that they make. So what? Those people tend to be those who cheat every once in a while in school, copy work with friends in class, etc. Me? I've isolated myself most of my childhood. I still have that kind of feeling as of today. Everything may seem sunny-side up and cliche, but it all comes down to the individual and their pursuit for a better life for themselves and the family. I see my GPA and I reflect back into my life. Although not that deep, but I still reflect.

So, I guess that's a little "supplement" to my OP.

I wouldnt suggest that you have isolated yourself in your application. You can say you take honor and pride in all the work that you do, but saying you isolate is probably a negative on your application.

Well FP9, I might have made that sound a bit harsh. What I mean was that I'm an intrapersonal individual. I tend to do things on my own because I feel that is the best way for me to work. As well, I was diagnosed with ADHD at around 3rd grade.

^^ Thats a good thing for your app to say you have overcome.

The ADHD explains why my test scores and freshman year weren't up to par. I'm going to be writing about this in my college essay and/or interviews with colleges-- definitely. My IQ does not reflect on my test scores for this reason.

Anymore chances?
All comments appreciated.
