Hey everyone! With high school coming to an end this year, I was wondering your thoughts on my chances of acceptance at these schools? The schools on my list are UNC Chapel Hill, UGA, USC (South Carolina), Wake Forest, NCSU, Clemson, and also will be applying to Vandy and UVA for the heck of it, and JMU and ECU as backups. I live In NC by the way.
My stats:
Freshman GPA: 3.7 Sophomore GPA: 4.63 Junior GPA: 5.55 Cumulative Weighted GPA: 4.63 (without senior year yet)
Senor Year First Quarter: 6 A’s, 2 B’s
SAT- 2050 CR 760/ M 590/ W 700
ACT- 29
Unweighted GPA: 3.67
3 AP classes
11 IB classes (including senior year) hopefully (and should) achieve the IB diploma
Extracurriculars:
Student Council Junior and Senior year
Service Club Junior and Senior year
NHS Junior and Senior year (treasurer Senior year)
Key Club member Sophomore, Junior, Senior year
School Weekend Camp leader Junior and Senior year
School Newspaper Chief and Editor Junior and Senior year
Basketball team Freshman year, track and field Junior and Senior year
Volunteer/mentor at local elementary school Sophomore, Junior and Senior year
Governors School Junior summer
Habitat for humanity Senior summer
Community Service hours (over 150)
Also: Freshman year I was at a private school and could only take academic classes and made 2 Bs (Biology and Spanish) and then I transferred to my base public school. Thats why my GPA for that year is much lower than the other years. Took the most rigorous classes I could and am in the IB program.
Please tell me your opinions on the chances I have for the schools I mentioned. Which ones would you guys think are reaches and matches. Also, if you would like to recommend any other colleges based on everything then that would be great too. College admissions and applications are stressing me out. Every reply will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
