Being a junior, I'm getting pretty worried about college admissions. I have a pretty low GPA at a 4.28 weighted and a 3.66 weighted. I've taken the hardest coarse load possible and i go to a pretty competitive public school where there is no grade inflation whatsoever and having this gpa does put me in the top 5%. I don't have outstanding ec's, although I can guarantee above outstanding recommendations due to the fact that all my teachers next year will be teachers i've known well since freshman year and are pretty fond of me. I have an ACT score of 33, although I did retake it and am expecting a 34 or higher, and I have an 800 on both the Physics and Math 2 SAT subject tests. Based on this, where does this place me for top universities?

Thanks in advaance!

All I can say is: work on your ECs… Top 5% is pretty good, but try to get up to the top 1%. Great SAT IIs.

If you improve your grades & show passion in whatever few ECs you might have (I’m sure you’ve committed to SOMETHING consistently over the years), I would say you have a decent shot at the “Top 20”. By the way, you really should be narrowing down the list and finding some matches and safeties you love. A Top 20 spot on a US News list doesn’t mean you’ll love the school.

Chance me back?

You have to clarify your post. If your weighted GPA is 3.66 and ACT is 33, Boy, You have lot of work to do. Please explain.

I think he mean’t the 3.66 as an UNweighted, just a typo in my opinion.
