Chances at Top Tiered Schools

I was just wondering if I had any chances at schools such as Duke, Emory, Cornell, a Claremont, a UC, Clemson, or Boston College. If not, I would greatly appreciate a recommendation for a "match" school. Thank you in advance.

GPA: 4.0
Rank: 1 of 300 (which I share with about 40 other students)
Old SAT: 780 math, 760 verbal
SAT II : 780 history, 770 chemistry, 760 math IIC
ACT: 35
AP: English 5, History 5, Chemistry 4, Calculus 3

ECs and Awards ( very weak :/ ):
-NASA SHARP apprentice
-Involved in FIRST Robotics, Science Honors, Math Honors, National Honor Society, Social Studies Club, Drama Club, A.S.I.A. club, Interact Club
-President of Science Honor
-Co-founded A.S.I.A. club
-Volunteered over 100 hours in local library
-Participated in National Chemistry Olympiad testing

Let's see, you got a 1540. I actually think you might have a shot at a community college. University of South Dakota might be tricky, though.

Seriously, you're in at all those schools except Duke and Cornell, I'm not sure why you would even ask. Of course, if you're out of state, the UCs can be reaches, but they'll be manageable because of your high scores.

Thank you. I'm really relying on my scores because I don't have any interesting "hooks," and I'm probably getting average recommendations since I've always been too shy to suck up to teachers.

Just to comment on something bill said, wihile you're not a shoe-in at Duke and Cornell, you have pretty good chances at themm which I think is what he meant anyway. Maybe use the ASIA club as a hook since you seem to be really involved in it?

Thanks atomicfusion for clearing that up, yeah I should have said you have a good shot at Duke and Cornell.

Ummmm, yes, you really do have a chance.

ya good stats + nasa sharp, extremely high chance

lperry999:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCLA/UCB: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCD/UCSB/UCI: Safety
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Super Safety

somehow, i got in duke, so yeh, you're gettin in.

you are getting in all of them.
