Chances at Tufts?

Hello, I am a high school soon to be senior. On the SAT Subject Tests i got an 800 on the Chemisty, 720 on the Math lvl 1, and a 700 on the Physics. I also got 5's on the Chem AP, Physics B AP, English AP, and Env.Science AP. A 27 composite on the ACT with a 10 writing subscore. I have a good gpa around 93, 94. Top 5% of my class. I am also in a lot of extracurriculars and have done a lot of community service. what are my chances of admittance into Cornell?

You are on the Tufts board, no idea what your chances are of getting into Cornell. No one knows your chances of getting into Tufts either. Your stats are more than good enough, it will all depend on how you come off based on letters of recommendation and essays. Do you present a coherent picture of why Tufts is the right place for you and how you will contribute to the Tufts community?

Curious why you didn’t take Math Level 2.

You should definitely apply to both Tufts and Cornell. I’m the year behind you, but I know a handful of kids in the class above you (two above me) that got in with similar stats. Also know kids that got turned down… it’s kind of a crapshoot sometimes.

Just be sure to do a better job proofreading your college essays than you did on this forum! You don’t want to get to the end of your “why tufts” supplement and close with a sentence that says: “And that’s why I’ve always wanted to go to cornell!”

In addition to that essay proofreading issue, I think that the 27 on the ACT is a reason for concern. That is not a strong score within the Tufts applicant pool. Have you considered taking the SATs?

Definitely need higher ACT! 27 bottom 25%
