W 730
SAT subject test : 2200 (will attempt once more before applying)
770 MATH2
730 PHY
700 CHEM
EXTRA CURRICULARS :

Would really appreciate some advice and judgement.

Bump! Bump!

Depends on which school you want to go to.

Comp. Sci at SoE (School of Engineering): Emphasis on mechanical engineering
Comp. Sci at L&S (Letters and Sciences): Emphasis on the Arts, and other subject areas

Both schools offer the EXACT SAME computer science classes.
However, SoE gets you a Bachelor of Science, while L&S gets you a Bachelor of Arts

SoE: Reach/Low Reach
L&S: Low Reach/High Match

Thanks for that!
I intend to enroll for the B.Sc degree from the SoE. Sorry for missing that out.
Any suggestions on how to direct my approach for the same in my application process?
Would really appreciate it.
PS - I’m attempting both the SATs (Reasoning and Subject Tests) once again before applying, just in case this is required.

SoE is very competitive, and your stats are not up to par with other applicants.

1) Your GPA is weak; yet, there is nothing you can really do about that, so accept what you got.
2) SAT I: although 2190 is a good score, you need a much more competitive score to “counterweight” your GPA. You must aim for 2250+ in a single sitting, as UCs do not superscore.
3) SAT II: as long as your scores are 750+, you don’t need to worry too much. Your Math 2C is good (but I’d retake to get 800 as Math is an important field in SoE), and retake your other ones for 750+.
4) Your ECs are very impressive. Make sure you volunteer a lot this summer; do not let this summer go to waste.
5) The fact that you’re applying from UAE can be both a plus and minus. Plus in the sense that it will make your application much more unique, and schools want diversity. It is a “minus” in the sense that international spots are limited, so you will be competing with thousands of others.

In the end, no one can predict your chances. Make sure your essays don’t bore the hell out of the officers, and write about something unique. Good luck.

p.s. You can only apply to 1 school in UCB.
