Sorry I don't have band or chinese school or any of that trite asian stuff
Essays: VERY GOOD ABOVE AVERAGE LIKE WHAA?? One of the best essays my teachers ever read ( I wrote about basketball, relating it to myself... NUFF SAID)

I'm Asian (small ****) in a low income family. Sister's at UCD

respond please??

your stats are very much like mine, including low-income and asian-ness. i would like to hear the comments also....

permutations:

UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCI/UCD: Slight Reach

I wouldn't count homecoming as your EC, even if you did help out.....that's almost a joke. And your sat scores are low. As flopsy already posted, above, you are a reach at all those schools you are applying. You should consider applying to lower-tier UC's such as Riverside or Merced. And lastly, it's not nice to call people "gook". Be respectful to people who even respond to your thread.

ihavenolife

riverside? you kidding me homie?

Riverside/Merced: Match

no, permutations, he is not kidding.

Your stats are quite low for top/middle tier UCs.

ucb/ucla - match
ucsd - safety
ucd/uci - slight reach

i think you can rule out ucla and ucb.

[edited for courtesy - Mod Amistad]

Stop thinking about UCs look into community colleges or some CSUs

i really doubt UCs care about basketball in ur personal statement. but then again, im not a admissions officer

OK, some people need to chill out. A 1770 SAT and 3.5 GPA are not community college level stats. The people who are making such comments are no better than the OP.

While you may not have the best chances at the schools you're looking into, still apply. It doesn't hurt. With that said, find some safety schools you wouldn't mind attending. No school is beneath you.

yeah you sh oudl look into some Cal States. UCI is a reach with a sat score that low, Riverside is realistic and in at all cal states. or PCC or another commuity college+transfer

OMG pcc is brought up again =D...another post dedicated to anyone who is considering pcc or went there before =D people there are sooo nice =D

this thread is hilarious.

ucb/ucla- reach
uci/ucd- reach/slight reach

anything under davis is a match/safety

"ucb/ucla - match
ucsd - safety
ucd/uci - slight reach"

^^^ hahaha... your odds look like this for 3.5 UC GPA and 1770 SAT:

UCB: Large Reach (average admit has a 4.17 UC GPA and 2025 SAT)
UCLA: Large Reach (average admit has a 4.12 UC GPA and 2010 SAT)
UCSD: Reach-Large Reach (average admit has a 4.04 UC GPA and 1940 SAT)
UCI: Slight Reach-Reach (average admit has a 3.9 UC GPA and around 1820 SAT)
UCSB: Slight Reach-Reach (average admit has a 3.9 UC GPA and around 1820 SAT)
UCD: Slight Reach-Reach (average admit has a 3.85 UC GPA and around 1820 SAT)
UCSC: Match
UCR: Match
UCM: Match

Top-Tier UC's (UCB, UCLA, UCSD) look to be out of the question. Mid-Tier UC's (UCI, UCSB, UCD) you got a shot at, but they are still a slight reach at best if not a reach. Your SAT's are slightly below their average admits and your UC GPA is well below their average admits. Your stats are slightly better than the average admits into UCSC, UCR, UCM.
