Chances at UCs as an Out of State Transfer?

Im currently at Lafayette College in PA. and i hate it. with a passion actually. Anyway, Im applying to transfer next fall semester (Fall 07) to somewhere witha beach.

My Top Choices are:
UCSB**, UCB, Whittier, UNC Wilmington.

The Colleges i was accepted into last year were:
Middlebury (couldnt afford it)
Lafayette
Mary Washington
UVM
Lehigh (Waitlisted)

Maybe that gives you some idea as to what my grades were like in HS.
I Live in NY... so i know a lot of the UC schools will be against me in that.

HS grades:
SAT:1300
Rank: 33/255
Average (we didn thave GPA): 96.5

Classes:

Senior Yr: Latin II, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Economics, AP English Language, AP Studio Art

I had approx 200 hours of community service and im still doing community service at an animal shelter in college.

there must be more, but im on a new laptop so i dont have all of my resume with me.

Any advice as to where else i should apply as a transfer or mainly what do you think my chances are of getting into the schools i listed above are.

Thanks so much!

Transferring to a UC as an OOS student will be more difficult. You will also pay increased tuition as a result. Your HS record is not a consideration. The main issues are your year of transfer (transferring as a junior is easiest), your area of interest (engineering would be difficult to get into), and the quality of work at your current school. You would need probably a minimum of a 3.5 to get a transfer admission to a UC.

thanks so much for you help! Im only a freshman but i cant stand it here. i need to leaver at all costs lol. As to my area of interest, i think i would either be majoring in math or biology, certainly not engineering.
Do you think that i should or is it even possible to retake my SATs?

you chose Lafayette College over Middlebury? I hope at least Lafayette gave you a full ride. How much aid did Middlebury offer you (compared to the others)?

none. lol actualy Middlebury only about 10,000
Lafayette gave me 30,000
beleive me it tore me appart to go to Laf instead of Middlebury. I just dont have that kind of money.
