Chances at UCSD and other UC's???

I have applied to all of the UC schools for Fall 2011. I really want to get into UCSD for Psychology (BS)/Pre-Med. My ultimate goal is to get into UCLA Medical School. What are my chances at UCSD and the other UC's, namely, UCLA, UCB, and UCSC???

UC GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1970 (650 CR, 690 M, 630 W) and 1910 (590 CR, 670 M, 650 W)
ACT: 30 (30 English, 36 Math :), 26 Reading, 28 Science, 29 Eng/Writing, 9 Writing)
I have taken multiple AP courses, 1 sophomore year, 4 junior year, and 6 senior year. I have only gotten A's and B's, no C's. I have also taken plenty of honors courses, basically I have always taken the hardest courses available to me at my school (does that count for anything?)

EC's: (not much, but here it goes...)
Orchestra, School and Private, since fourth grade
CSF, since 10th grade
Secretary of Architecture Club in 11th grade
Currently a member of Indian Club (im not Indian though :P)

Do I have a chance at getting into UCSD? I am aware of their point system they use and I am afraid that I won't make the cutoff.

I forgot to add that I have completed over 100 hours of community service at my local public library, and my SAT 2’s are:
Math II: 720
Chemistry: 740
US History: 650
I hope to win the National AP Scholar Award this year as well.

Just look at where your stats are and you’ll see what kind of chance you have. Looks like UCLA and Berkeley are low reaches while UCSD is a high match-low reach. I’m not 100% sure what UCSD’s stats are…that’s actually just a guess. Take a look on their website. But if your application was convincing and your essays are good, then your chances are probably better. No use stressing now…you’ll see what happens! Good luck!

agree with arcadefire: UCLA/Berkeley are reaches – the UC GPA is quite low and the SATs are low-mid. UCSD is impossible to predict because you can’t be sure how many points they will award to life challenges, accomplishments, etc. Still, for UCSD I’d say you’re low match… let’s say 30-40%. Similar reason… your UC GPA and SATs are both middle of the applicant pool, and middle is unpredicable.

P.S. If you’re not really, really good at standardized tests, figure out how to get that way before you apply to med schools… the MCAT is super critical.

well for UCSD, my gpa is lower than their average, but my test scores are higher, I just hope I don’t get screwed over by their point system (I am not disadvantaged and did not state any life challenges)…so far I have been getting mixed responses about my chances to UCSD, so I guess I will just have to wait and see…
anyways, thank you all for your input :)

In case any of you guys were wondering, I did get into all UC’s except for UCLA, UCB, and UCSD <- my number 1 :frowning:
anyways, I will be attending UCR this fall, they gave me the chancellor’s scholarship, I hope to get into their honors program, and I am SUPER excited about college :)
