Chances at Univ of Delaware or Villanova? What other colleges should i look into?

UD and Villanova are my top two colleges I want to go to.
I recently received my SAT scores which now gives me a complete profile
I am junior from a large public Maryland HS

Class Rank: i’m 95th in a class of 515 (18th percentile)
My school is know as the one of, if not, the best public schools in MD so 95th is considered very good.

My GPA unweighted is a 4.82, weighted is a 4.61 but should be around a 4.9 after the end of this year.
SAT: 1710. (i know this is not good) I am retaking it in two weeks. I personally think i should end up with a 1900.
I was sick and in the hospital in the weeks leading up to the SAT and had not studied at all because of this. I got a 510 on CR, 600 on Math, and 600 on writing. CR I think I can easily get to 600, and Math to 700.

Extracurriculars:
Peer Assistant for the special needs soccer, bowling, and baseball teams
school ambassador
nation honor society
class council
student athlete leadership board
volunteer for an animal rescue 10+ hrs per week

Im looking to major in the STEM field. Most likely Chemical or Electrical Engineering or maybe Physics.

What would be my chance to get into UD or Villanova? With my profile, what other colleges should I look at?
Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Since you are an OOS applicant, your chances will be smaller for state schools not in your state such as UDel. For Villanova, your SAT’s are low. Their average CR+M score is between 1330 and 1400. You’re at an 1110. Even for UMD, your scores are low. If you can get those scores up all across the board to between 600-700, you should be golden for the schools you’re thinking about.

Your GPA may be enough to get you in the test-optional policy for Salisbury University, although they highly recommend sending test scores to be considered for scholarships (Merit based aid is very important as you’ll discover later on.) At the moment, I strongly suggest Goucher, Loyola Maryland, and Towson as match schools for you.

@TheDidactic‌ Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, Goucher and Loyola are too expensive since I only have one parent to pay for college. I know other schools are just as expensive but my mom said she would worry about cost after I got accepted to schools. Also, the only school in MD i would consider going to would be UMD College Park. Although my SAT scores don’t show it, I truly think I have worked too hard to not to apply to schools just because of this one test. I am thinking i should be at a 1850-2000 after I take it again in two weeks.

If your SAT scores don’t improve as much as you would like them to, you should definitely consider test optional colleges. In your case, getting merit aid would be the absolute best thing for you financially so DO try to boost that score as much as you can. Improvement is always possible.
