this is a very very simple version of my profile,
i do have many other ecs but they are minor compared to the ones above
i acknowledge that my grades do no stand out...
but what i could highlight is that i am good at both math/science and languages...
and that is also the reason why i m struggling in deciding my future major

anyways...please chance me!
and good luck to everybody!
:)

im confused an American high school in Asia?

U-mich and rice are matches… rest are reaches from mid-high

All schools are reaches. With mediocre grades and no awards, very slim chances.

yea honestly you are the same as the other 20000 applicants. The only leg up you have is you arent from this country if it would act as an advantage

^Actually, that you are an international students puts you at a disadvantage because the pool is extremely competitive.

UPenn, Brown, Columbia, and Cornell are reaches. You need to raise your SAT by around 100-200 points. Your EC’s are solid.

All colleges are slight reaches, with maybe Rice and Umich being high matches. Unfortunately, your SAT score needs to be higher if your are an international applicant. What specific school are you applying to within Cornell and what major?

You have solid ECs, and I would say it depends on your essays. If you write an amazing essay reflecting your interests, I think you will get into at least one of these schools or a school of similar rank.

Best of luck!

Chance me back?

jman13325- like singapore american school… even though i dont go there

ballpointpen- for cornell, i m considering mathematics major

yeah, i see how my sat score is pulling me down…

^Your 4.07 WGPA is probably what hurts your chances the most, since this implies either a lot of Bs or not that many honors/AP courses.

The fact that you are an international student may somewhat compensate for this- but you are probably going to need higher GPA/SATs for your schools
I would probably emphasize the internships as they are what seem to stand out in your app

chance me back?- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1006553-senior-chance-ivies-ehhhh-grades.html

my grades are all A’s except one B+in my sophomore year
yet, i didnt took only one or two honors classes in my freshmen and sophomore years…
so my gpa back then was like 3.8~3.9
and i pulled it up to 4.3 in my junior year… does this matter?

definitely- if you arent the straight A applicant- colleges love the junior surge as it shows you are recommitting yourself

slightly below average SAT/not very unique ECs…it won’t be easy
