Chances at USC, NYU, University of Miami, Syracuse, Etc

Hi everyone, kind of new to posting on this website(even though I read posts from it almost everyday)
Just wanted to see my chances at these schools if I am applying as a music major (Applying to Industry/Business program for these schools: USC, NYU, University of Miami, and Syracuse). Applying as a jazz studies major to Tulane, Music major to SMU and UC Berkeley.

I know that these are all big reaches for me given my GPA/ACT scores (Just thought it would be worth it to try)

USC(Already Applied) and NYU (Pretty much done with all supplements etc. Should I apply ED 2?) are my top choices currently but here are my stats:

Grade: Senior
Race: Caucasian, Japanese and Native Hawaiian
Parents: Never married, live primarily with my mom(Middle class)

Academics:
GPA: 3.1 UW (I know so terrible!)
ACT: 26 (Just retook it hoping to get a better score)
AP Classes: 4 (took environmental and english last year, currently taking psychology and statistics)
AP Exams: 3 on Environmental and English

Activities:
-Trumpet 8 years
-Play for state recognized High School Jazz Band(Freshman-Present)
-High School Concert Band(Freshman-Present)
-Los Angeles Youth Jazz Ensemble(Jazz group directed by USC grad students,made up of great jazz players throughout Los Angeles, we meet every Sunday)
-Various solo and ensemble awards (Freshman-Sophomore)
-Outstanding soloist award presented to me jazz competition with high school jazz band(Junior year)
-Varsity Golf (Freshman and Sophomore year had to quit due to interference with music practice :-<

  • YMCA Youth and Government (Senior)
    -Private lessons for both classical and Jazz Style of playing( 8 years)
    -Worked at furniture retail store during summer and winter break (Junior year)
  • 40 hours of community service with Heal the Bay( i know not a lot of hours lol)
    -30 Hours of community service with YMCA(helping with after school programs etc)

I think that I wrote pretty solid personal statements for each of the colleges + the writing supplements for those that required them. Also have good letters of rec

Please let me know what you think my chances are of getting into the colleges I listed and lmk if I missed any important info (running off of 3 hours of sleep bc of finals)

To which NYU school / program have you applied?

Wait a minute, NYU’s deadline has already passed… How are you still deciding on whether you will apply or not? You literally can’t apply there anymore.

I don’t know how admissions into music programs work so I won’t comment on those. Keep in mind that your ACT score is significantly below the average for literally every school on your list except Syracuse. It NEEDS to get significantly higher to compensate for your low GPA.

USC - High Reach. Has become extremely competitive nowadays.
NYU (Stern) - Extremely, Extremely High Reach. Business of one of the hardest majors to get into at NYU and has very high average stats
Umiami - Low -Mid Reach (still below average ACT/GPA)
Syracuse - Match.

Your list has WAYY too many reaches and not enough matches. You don’t have a single safety and you need way more matches.

The OP was Dec 16, 2015. I believe ED1 was Nov 1. But ED2 and RD may have been Jan 1? I don’t know though.

And I sense the OP would be applying to either Tisch Clive Davis (extremely competitive - extremely high reach) or Steinhart (somewhat competetive)
