I think my essays are fairly strong, and I know that my teachers and guidance counselor wrote me stellar recommendations. I feel like I have a good shot, but I just wanted some input. Thanks!

By the way, my top choice is UVA. W&M is essentially my second choice because I’m not overly optimistic about getting a lot of financial aid from GW since it is not a public, in-state university.

I think you have a good chance at all of the schools mentioned. I would be very surprised if you did not get into GW. I do not know too much about UVA and W & M, but I think as an in-state student, you have a really good chance.

Chance back (applying to GW and W&M):

I’d say you’re a good match at George Washington.
UVA and W&M seem like they would be in’s as well. Good luck!

Okay, thanks! Also, I was wondering if being the first person in my family to go to college gives me any kind of (small) advantage?

I think you are in for all of them.

Thank you! My mind has been eased a tiny bit now. Waiting for the decision is definitely the hardest part!
