Chances at Vassar ED?

hi guys...

i'm an american expatriate living in russia. i've spent all of my high school years here and have spent the other 14 years of my life also overseas. i have an american passport but have never lived in the states. i am also half-filipino and jewish.

my sats scores:
V - 730, M-690, W-710

SAT IIs
French w/Reading - 660
Literature - 590 (but doing again in Nov)

GPA is probably an A-. my school doesn't have GPAs though, but that is my guidance counselor's guess of my average.

I am a full IB Diploma candidate. My HLs are English, French and Theatre Arts. I have a predicted 36 on the IB as well.

ECs:
Tons of Theatre - have been teching since 9th grade, was Head Prop Director and Head Lights Director for two seperate productions. I have also performed in 4 plays in the past two years and have had major roles in each. Have attended IB TAPS conferences in Beijing, China and Bangkok, Thailand and also took part in a theatre movement workshop in Shukin Theatre School in Moscow.

MUN - Been on 5 conferences, including the esteemed St Andrew's MUN (Twice). I have also won a 'Best Delegation' award at a conference in Italy and was the Chair of a conference held at my school.

Then lots of other things - NHS secretary, soccer team 9th and 11th grades, editor of school lit mag, internship at major English-speaking newspaper in Moscow, summers in Israel/US doing community service, summer homestay in France, attended film school, doing special project which involves meeting and interviewing Alexander Solsehizyn (famous writer, wrote Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich).

Honor Rolls, Excellence in History/French/English awards throughout the years...

I have very quirky essays and strong recs.
So my chances?

i didnt read through any of your info but you should know that they accept a higher percentage of students ED than RD. RD is about 29% and ED is closer to 50% i think.

Hey,

I think you have a good chance at Vassar. A lot of the international students here did IB (and a good number of plain old American ones too--including myself) so I think they respect IB a lot. Your other stats look good too, and if your essay's good, I think you look like a good Vassar applicant. Good luck!
