Chances at Wharton ED :(

Im a senior that recently moved and am thus having a hard time figuring out my stats at my new school, but the following is a list of where i stood at my old school and the two should be fairly similar:
I have a high school GPA of 4.2 weighted, 3.92 unweighted
My class rank is 14 out of 345
ACT composite=32
SAT superscored composite=2190
CR=740
W=740
M=710
SAT highest in one sitting=2100
SAT Math1=690
SAT Literature=700
SAT US History=700

I was commended as a national merit scholar for the PSAT and am a National Hispanic Scholar.

During my junior year i could take 3 APs and i only took two. I got a 3 on the US History and a 5 on the English Language. This year I'm taking 3 APs and Spanish IV. This year I'm taking 3 APs.

I volunteered 135 hours for a local Congressman and was then hired by him as a field representative.

My officer positions include: Olympus club class representative 10th grade, Olympus club treasurer 11th grade, FBLA vice president 11th grade, after moving i started a new chapter and was FBLA president and founder in 12th grade, DECA vice president 11th grade.

The activities i was involved with include: AcDec, quiz bowl, FBLA, DECA, NHS, History Day, Model UN, Olympus, Stock Market Game, National Finance Challenge (3rd in state for 2 years), and National Economics Challenge (3rd in state for 2 years, 1st in state 1 year which put me at 35th in the nation), and young Republicans.

Misc: I've visited Penn 3 times and sat in on an econ course at wharton, am from a state that sends under 10 kids a year to Penn, and took math courses over the summer so I could take AP AB calc before graduation specifically because wharton wants kids to have calc, and I have a fairly well known alumn writing me a rec letter.

I plan on applying to Wharton ED. Please rate my chances on a scale of 1-10. Thank you, I'm sort of freaking out right now

I feel like it could be a reach for anyone. Your SAT scores/ACT scores might come off as a bit weak though. (What’s your ethnicity?)

You’ve got some nice ECs, and i think the alum recommendation will DEFINITELY help…alot.

Your math is a bit weak though…so maybe a 6.5~7.5 out of 10?

edit:
By the way, don’t take what i say TOO seriously because I myself am NOT qualified to tell you whether or not you have a chance/shot @ penn Wharton…I’m just sharing with you what I’ve heard from others and basing it off of what I see in the people who get into Wharton

Well since he is a National Hispanic Scholar I would venture a guess and say that he is Hispanic. I think you have a great shot.

Good Luck !

Thanks for chancing me!
Being Hispanic is a huge boost. Your GPA + SATs are good. And I feel your EC’s are around a 7 out of 10. Do you have any sports? How strong did you feel your essays were? How many letters of rec. did you submit? Also, how were your SAT IIs? I know since you took ACT you are not required to take SAT II’s but 700+ on them would be good. Considering you come from an “underrepresented state” I would say you have a better chance than most, in addition you are Hispanic with stellar test scores and GPA; that is basically what it boils down to. However, you did ED to Wharton, which is tough as hell to get into…considering these factors I rate you at/around 7.5 - 8/10. This is my analysis, however, don’t take it too seriously…and hope for the best!

I think being Hispanic should help, but you could stand on your scores alone. I think you have a great chance! Good luck!

Check out Collegedata.com it will tell the average SAT scores and average GPA for students who get in. I think you have a great chance though.

so what happened? did you get in? sure hope u did
