Thanks for taking the time to read all this, and I hope you can give me some idea of where I stand. Also if you wouldn't mind chancing % each indiviual school. Thanks.

Assuming an average application fee of $65, you plan on spending $1105 in application fees. You might want to rethink this a bit. Your actual chances are hard to predict since you have no SAT and are only done with two years of school (Stanford won't even consider your freshman year). If your SAT is a 1950 and your grades improve slightly, you're in at some of the mid level schools and will have little chance of getting in at the five reach shools you listed separately. This projection really doesn't mean much though, because you still have two years left, and things can change dramatically. Pull up your grades, get above a 2100 on the SAT, and you'll be in much better shape.

Yeah. The money isn't an issue. I am fortunate to be able to apply to the large number of schools that I feel I may wish to spend 3 or 4 years at.

More power to you. Make sure most of the schools you apply to take the common app- it'll save you lots of work. good luck.

Apply to see if you can get in? As in, you wouldn't go even if you were accepted to some of these? If that's the case, please don't. If you're accepted but have 0% chance of going, then you're occupying the spot that another accepted student that might possibly want to attend could be taking.

If you're actually interested in the schools, then apply by all means, but if you only want to see if you'd make it with no intention of attending, then you're only wasting the time of the admissions officers.

you are a rising junior... let the next year influence you. i think you will find that there is no need to apply to all of these schools, and you will even find reasons that you won't want to. with that said, you have a lot of reaches, especially with your SAT score (though it SHOULD go up, especially if you take it fall senior year when you're much older). but if it doesn't, you should consider dropping some reaches and putting in more matches

also. you have a lot of activities... i don't think you should assume you'll be president of something when you're a senior or even still be involved in all of those activities then. if you are, great, but my interests changed a lot over the four years and you might not be where you think you will now.

I actually would like to go to those schools but i didnt put them on my main list beacause everyon would say "you have no shot at the top schools" so i made a separate list.

If I was accepted to one of those schools, I would probably go there instead of the main list.

Regarding the President of NHC in 12th Grade__

I am the only member in the club going into 11th grade, the rest are all going to be senoirs and you can only run for office if you were in the club the year before, so hypethically i could be the only officer of the club,,, but we will change to rules to allow new members to run for lesser positions

Retract all of my statements, then. You're at a reach for those school's you listed (where you'd apply to see if you could get in), but if you were more comfortably in the top 10% and had SATs above 2150 perhaps, it wouldn't be so far out of reach. However, if your stats remain somewhat the same, it might not be wise to apply to that many schools that you thought you had no chance at.

anyone else???

main Comment, SAT's must go up... u do have a lot of "soft factors" (ECs) so thats good. Also, u didnt even start junior year, u have a WHOLE year to study for the SAT, just relax a bit too, esp. from thinkin about college, cuz wen the end of ur junior year hits u, ull be in paaaaiiin....

your list is not balanced at all. for the most part most of your colleges are reach colleges, then you have miami and florida as extreme safeties. you'd have to balance your list out more. and applying to that many schools, money isn't the only issue but you have to be able to put in time for each application. if you don't spend enough time on each one, your essays are not going to "shine" and you'll be rushing to complete all of them.

on that note, your coursework and grades look good for all except maybe wharton, duke, and columbia. but you'd definately need to raise your sat scores for most of your schools.

Your AI ranking is 194--meaning you have a very low chance (like 5 to 10%) of being accepted to any of the Ivy League schools.

Note: you need to improve your rank up to about 3/120 from the current 11/120 and then you would need scores of around 720/730/700 in the three parts of the SAT I to have any kind of shot at the Ivies.

As far as the others:
Emory--match
Georgetown--reach
Boston College-match
Tufts--slight reach
NYU-match
Univ of Florida--hard to say--GPA doesn't cut it but SAT would--I'd say match
Univ of Miami (FL I presume)--safe match

I don't know if you plan to be on the hockey team or football team of any of these schools, if so that obviously would improve your chances--although even at the Ivies, you need to move the AI (academic index) score up to 200 even to be granted access to these schools as a varsity sports player.

Come back in a year and tell us how it's going--and get new "chances" then.

What's AI?

AI is academic index.

Thanks to the long list of personalized chances.

I hope more people will chance each college like that.

Thanks.

yeah yeah!!!!
