My essays are very good.
Also, my recommendations are all excellent (from school teachers)
sent 3 additional letters from very prominent persons.

3 additional letters might hurt you, because that’s too many. They generally want one at most–if it gets too long, the adcom will get bored. The SATs are also a bit weak. Your ECs look great, though.

I don’t think 3 additional will hurt you if they are from very prominent people like you say. Your SAT is low but your EC’s are obviously extremely spectacular. Depends on what the adcoms are looking for of course, but you seem to be a great candidate :)

The letters sound amazing. I don’t think they’ll hurt you if they’re from those sources - at most they’ll just be repetitive and tire the admissions officer a bit. I have a question - why are you taking the US History SAT? It seems that it would be easier to take World Hist. as an international student. Also, it is much easier to get a higher score on the world history test because the curve is much higher.

Yale does not care that your additional letter of recommendation are from “prominent” people. (frankly it may work against you as it would appear that you’re trying to bully your way in) They want insight on what type of scholar you are – how you work with others. If the UNESCO person and others don’t know you and your work personally, you’re best to omit it.

Why? Because Yale isn’t beholden to any of your recommendation writers. They aren’t trying to curry any favor with them – they don’t care about who they think would make a good Yale student. Why? Because they don’t know. Yale admissions knows.

But you’ve obviously already sent these in as you’re a current applicant. Maybe my post can be useful for later applicants.

luckily they all know me very well and convey another part of my work and details of me so they will certainly help me. the fact that they are from prominent people make them more valuable because it is not my piano teacher whom with I have spent 30 hours a month with and knows me well but people who are in fact very hard to reach and even harder to get to know well enough so they would write you a good letter. which they have :)

us history because the world isnt an option in january unfortunately.
