I would say you’re pretty solid for all of them, including Cal and UCLA. Btw, UCSF is only a graduate school.
Don’t worry.
Agree with above poster. You are a competitive applicant but UCB/UCLA are a tough admit. Also noted UCSF is a graduate school for Health Sciences.
No offense but that GPA might really heart you for Berkeley, given that you’re applying for the most demanded major in one of the most selective Engineering schools in the nation. However, you have a fair shot at UCLA and SD and a good shot at the others
Yea @confused34. EECS at Berkeley is one of the top in the nation.
It might come down to major, as it might be impacted, for the top schools (Berkeley and LA, perhaps even SD/SB). But you’re good to go for the others as long as you have decent EC’s. Good luck!
You would get into Merced easily, but they don’t have an electrical engineering major.
@coolkid69 Just remember to finish strong, if you ever get waitlisted, It would be helpful to report your fall senior grades
Your chances are probably lower than some other posters assume.
- UCs heavily emphasize GPA over test scores. You are a somewhat test score heavy applicant, which is the kind of applicant who tends to get surprise disappointments in April.
- Engineering majors are often impacted and more difficult to get into than the campus stats may imply.
http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/freshman-admissions-summary can show you past admit rates for each campus and HS GPA (your 4.0 UC weighted and capped GPA would be in the second tier of 3.80-4.19). However, you should assume that your chances are lower, due to choosing an impacted major.
