SUBJECTIVE

Essays: Although they're not stellar, I am pretty confident about them.
Recommendations: 3 Amazing (I have known all of them since 9th grade, and they love me)
Hook: IMO my best bet is in Filmmaking, because they are expanding their arts department, and I wrote about how I integrate everything i do (science, math, history, etc) in filmmaking. And I also wrote about how my films have served ppl from California to Philadelphia to Washington D.C. to Tanzania. Also, I did start that Tanzania tennis thing which got recognized by national magazines and Nike and USTA...

The reason my freshmen year (which is the only year I have B's in) is because my middle school didn't have ESL and I came here 7 years ago...so for three years I really didn't get to learn english. By immersion I did learn it eventually, but I really had hard time in honors English classes in 9th grade. Also, I had to work primarily in my 9th grade year cuz my father's office was robbed as well as whole chunk of money, so i had to help him get back on track by doing miscellaneous office / menial work.

I took Calc freshmen year and took linear algebra and differential equation the summer after...Then kinda stopped doing math and started doing more useful things like science research

SORRY for the long post...but probably this week's going to be my last week here on CC (cuz it takes way too much of my time ) so I would like to know chances at Princeton...percentage-wise...and the reason why...THANKS in advance !

You look fantastic my friend i.e. as good as it gets. Definitely higher than a 50% chance..

You do know Who's Who isn't a legitimate item for your resume?

yea :)

that's why i put "standard stuff" next to it cuz EVERYONE does it.

wow. you are amazing.

forgot...got 6's on IB Physics and IB Spanish

amazing stats...

I saw your stats on "the other site that CC censored when I try to type it".

Like what I've said before -- if you don't get in, I don't know who will.

Relax. =)

what everyone else said.

I'd be careful saying science is more "useful" then math at Princeton :)

That said, you seem to have the right sort of stuff for your typical Ivy League undergraduate application. Good luck.

good lord, if you dont get in i'll be very very surprised...and if we both get in, i'd very much like to meet you when we get there

if we get in look for the azn giant with chipotle in his right hand and mountain dew on the other. yup that's me.

oh. and i just found out that three years ago our school had 5 mit acceptances, 5 stanfords, 2 harvards, and 4 cornell/columbias. crazy...

WoW... BUt what about Princeton?? My school has similar stats BUT, NO ONE EVER got into Princeton.
That's really worrying me now.. : (

Hey, by the way, I am also Korean w/ your similar circumstnace (whole ESL thing.. and 9th grade honors Eng..)

hehe luckily, my school had atleast 1 get in every two years, although last years was a double legacy

I 've never heard ANYONE who is NOT legacy and GOT into Princeton from our area.. SAD.

Does having a sibling as a current Princeton student count at all for legacy?

hardly. from other school's policies, parents-4pts i think, siblings-1pt

im not sure for P'ton though

Hey you're from ML! I didn't know we had a film club. So you're creek manager huh? Not a job I envy. I was part of Bio Assessment, one of the few groups that didn't bs all their data. Dealing w/ Suchanek and Porter was so tiring. Especially after one of the students decided to light a line of ethanol on fire. Good times.
So what tennis team are you part of besides the Matadors?
College acceptances from our school have been a bit shaky in the past few years. A few years ago Standford used to take at least 7 kids but lately the numbers have gone way down. Last year they only took 3 and one was an AA admit. And a lot of people struck out with other private colleges. Princeton accepted one girl ED (only ED applicant, legacy, submitted art portfolio) and waitlisted another. Cornell, MIT, U Chicago, and Columbia all accepted the same girl for engineering. MIT took 2 others and turned down a boy who was practically a genius(I'm sure you've heard of Joe), Swarthmore took 1, and Caltech took 2.
Anyway I think your stats are great. You have high test scores, which for some reason a lot of high ranking ML students don't have, and outstanding ECs. Good Luck!

wow you are the third person from ml from this site.
