Your grades and standardized test scores are very strong, but you seem to lack high achievement in your EC’s. I’d say it’s more likely than not that you get accepted at Cornell and Duke, but Princeton is still a crapshoot, just like it is with all qualified applicants. By the way, if you’re Chinese (even if it’s not your first or homespoken language), an 800 on the Chinese SAT II won’t be as impressive as an 800 on a different sat ii, but you still have a 780 and a 770, which are strong scores. Take another sat ii if you think you can get an 800 on one of them.

SAT I is excellent. Grades are solid. ECs are average. Princeton will be a definite reach as nothing really stands out as amazing. Decent shot at Cornell and Duke.

I’d say approx. 40-70% range shot for Carnegie, JHU, Swarthmore, Duke, and Cornell, Cornell being the highest %. Princeton should probably be a 30% chance.

Good luck!

^No idea what he is talking about. Who has higher chances at Cornell than Duke? How is Swarthmore harder to get into than Cornell?

^ In terms of percentages, Cornell DOES have a slightly higher acceptance rate than Swarthmore (18% vs. 17%), but I would bet the admissions pool at Cornell is slightly more competitive. However, I don’t have the numbers to prove or disprove that.

Standardized test scores are fantastic, but I’m not seeing anything in terms of ECs that make you truly stand out. On paper, you come off as a typical Asian applicant: strong test scores, but also activities such as Key Club, fencing, and orchestra. If you can prove to adcoms that you have something to offer that’s different from your peers, I can see you getting accepted to 5+ of these schools on your list.
