Is there any reason you want to attend Chicago other than it's a highly ranked institution?

The fact that according to PR it has a great undergrad experience, it's outside California and it has a great buisness school.

Chicago only has a business school at the graduate level. It does offer an undergrad econ concentration, but that is quite a different story. A little more investigation may be in order.

Check out the Core and see if that appeals to you, for you will spend as much time on it as your major. Visit in the winter and see if you can deal with snow, slush and cold. Chicago wants to know how you see yourself fitting in with its philosophy and mission. This tends to make it a self-selecting place, as people seem to either love Chicago's approach or recognize immediately it's not for them.

Not saying you shouldn't apply, but agree with idad -- you need to do some homework.
