Chances Early Action

Freshman year I did terrible. I was in only one honors class, and I did not try hard on tests and projects. I got a 90 and 91. Then, I went on a trip to Lourdes france. I worked with sick people from all over the world. The trip made me want to become a doctor ( I also want to work with doctors without borders in Kenya). Then, sophomore year I was in two honors and had a GPA 3 points higher then before. I worked really hard and improved. Junior year I am now in all honors and an AP (Art history). THis quarter my weighted GPA was a 100 percent. So I went from 90-91-94-98-100(if the rest of the semester goes well). My top choice schools are all very hard to get in to.

Currently my GPA is 92.7 UW and 93.5 W. But, I think I can get a cumlative GPA of 95 by the end of this year. I think I might be able to get a 2000 on the SAT and a 32 on the ACT. I am a amnesty international leader at my school. I am not longer IN Students against drunk driving ( you may know it as students against desctructive decisions) or torch club. sailing got in the way in the fall and I do not know if I will go back in the winter because of my work load and my ACT tutor. I am active in my schools life be in it service programs. I hope to have over 200 service hours. I also worked with the mentally and physically handicapped (babies, kids, and the elderly). I also worked in a soup kitchen. By the end of senior year I will have done three service trips (two to lourdes, on to honduras that I helped plan). I also want to start a squash league in my town.

My senior year classes will be
-honors world lit
-AP Biology
-AP psychology
-AP spanish
-Justice seminar
-AP BC calculus
-AP Studio art

And a C freshman year (84 on my schools grading scale) but its a B on any other school grading scale

I also am at a Jesuit Highschool Loyola academy in wilmette, IL

If you are attracted to Boston College, Holy Cross is also Jesuit (1 hour west of Boston) and very similar. The reason for the similarity is that Holy Cross is also run by the New England Jesuit Province. One big difference is Holy Cross is strictly undergraduate so there are no grad students teaching. Small class sizes (10-19) and lots of access to the professors. (Many large universites use grad students for teaching and access to full professors are extremely limited.) Also at Holy Cross SAT scores are optional. Holy Cross is #33 on the US News and World Report Rankings for top liberal arts colleges.

I am also considering Holy Cross
but what are my chances at both?

To get into HC, you really need to be in the top 10% of your high school class. Gradual improvement from freshman year on is also looked favorably on.

My school doesn't rank

You mention "sailing got in the way." My D is on the Varsity Sailing team at BC (currently ranked #1!) and when she met with the BC head coach-he was excellent at "chancing" her. Call him up. Info is on the website.
