^^^^ I know this is bad, but my school is very competitive, my teachers and counselors have mentioned in my letters of recommendations that at surrounding schools I would have had a higher rank.</p>

<p>You are one of those candidates who is near impossible to chance accurately because you have given yourself a fighting chance in almost every category. I would say your faith would be decided by spur of the moment stuff by the admin officers. I know that isn't very helpful in terms of 'chances', but what i am saying is that at least you have an average chance of getting in. </p>
<p>Just remember, kids who apply to HYPS also apply to Cornell as a backup, but kids who apply to lower ranked colleges also apply to Cornell as a shot in the dark, so don't worry about being inadequate. There are plenty of kids that feel that way.</p>
