Applying to:
University of Washington
University of Michigan
University of Illinois
Santa Clara University
Boston University
University of Colorado Boulder
University of Oregon

GPA: 3.1 UW
My freshman and sophomore years didn't go so well considering my cumulative at the time was below 3.0, but I got it together during my junior year and received a 3.6 and a 3.95 UW GPA (including honors classes) for my two junior semesters. Now I'm taking 3 AP classes (Comparative Government, Physics B, and Psychology) along with more honors during my senior year and I'm expecting somewhere around a 3.7ish UW GPA for the semester.

ACT: 31

Class Rank: 241/362 (yeah I know, ouch)

My recommendation and my essay should both be well above average.

ECs:

Three years of Cross Country

Three years of Track

Bridges Leader
We have a program called "Bridges" at our school where juniors and seniors apply with (with an essay and all) are are accepted by the head of the program to lead a group of students of all ages.

10 hrs/week of work during school year during my Junior year

Thanks for any time you take to help me out.

If I were you, I would just not include the rank on your transcript ;) (Idk if you have the option for that- mine does lol)
University of Washington- Reach
University of Michigan-Reach
University of Illinois-High Match
Santa Clara University-Match
Boston University-Highishh match
University of Colorado Boulder-match
University of Oregon- no idea lol
It's just your gpa that i based this off of, but your test scores are great, and since you did have an upward trend, you're probably not too bad (I know some schools dont even include your freshman gpa in their way of calculating!)

University of Washington--Reach
University of Michigan--Reach
University of Illinois--Slight Reach
Santa Clara University--Reach
Boston University--Slight Reach
University of Colorado Boulder--Match to Slight Reach
University of Oregon--Match

If I were you, I'd also apply to Oregon State, the University of Arizona, and the University of Utah. You are likely to get into all three of these schools in addition to Oregon--and possibly Colorado. Your upward grade trend could possibly also get you in at Boston University and Illinois.

I'd consider attending Oregon or Utah as first choices presuming you get into the ones I mentioned. If you do get into Boston University or Illinois, then you'll have to compare them to Oregon/Utah to make your final choice.

Also, if you are interested in a good business school, consider Indiana. (I notice that all of the schools on your list are good business schools--which makes me think that's what you are interested in majoring in).

Best of luck to you--and congratulations on your upwards grade trend.

My top school would be University of Washington, I'm hoping that the fact that I'm in state, tons of students from my high school go there, and that I have the positive trend will be enough to get in. The 31 can't hurt me either I guess. :
